Brossart's Alex Trentman has committed to play for Christian Brothers University. It ia a NCAA division 2 affiliate. Congrats big AL-super excited for you and your family!!

I'm very happy for Alex and was thrilled with his decision to play at the next level. He was undecided even after his official visit last week where he worked out with the team.

As a kid growing up, he loved the game of basketball and loved playing with his friends. His goal was never to be playing at the next level and passed up on many offers to play on elite AAU teams in order to work on his game with similar kids who wanted to be the best high school players they could be. He had always wanted to join his brother at UK. The CBU fit was perfect for him. It is a beautiful campus and a wonderful place for an education. Coach Neinabor recruits not just athletes, but strong academic players. The offer to Alex was made over the summer and prior to the coach actually speaking to him. He had watched him play in a couple of different tourneys and choose him for his actions on the court and off the court. He made a few phone calls to coaches in NKY and after a lengthy discussion with coach Bundy of the Jazz, made the offer. Coach Neinabor has a statue of St. Joesph in his locker room. He made the comment that Joseph was never quoted in the bible, he was a man who just did what he was asked to do. He felt Alex's demeanor was in line with his philosophy.

I'm looking forward to watching this young man play at the next level. I may even make a few road trips to see him play and take in a little Elvis music and some BBQ!

FYI, CBU played at Bellermine last year! I'm hoping they are on the schedule again for next year!
