Brossart's Alex Trentman has committed to play for Christian Brothers University. It ia a NCAA division 2 affiliate. Congrats big AL-super excited for you and your family!!

Congrats to Alex and the Trentmans!! Great to see him make the decision to continue his career, as he has been just so much fun to watch over the years. Remember watching him in the 8th grade at a year end tourney, and remarking about his huge upside & athleticism.

 

I'll enjoy following him as he continues his education & basketball career; and may just find a way to find myself in the Memphis area on "business" on the night of a CBU game--Elvis, BBQ, Basketball & Beale Street is hard to resist!!

The link is the press release from Christian Brothers University where Alex Trentman has been offered and accepted a full ride scholarship.

Though Alex signed a week or so ago, Mustang did an outstanding job yesterday with a joint ceremonial signing along with Drew Burns, a Centre commit.

So proud to have been a part of the Mustang family for the last 6 years. Nothing but a first class operation. Great coaches, support staff and parents. All who go the extra step to do what is in the best interest of the kids!

17 players (one RS) on last year's roster, and only 4 Seniors. Is that typical of a DII roster?

Depends on the team. NCAA D2 allows 10 full rides. Those can be full rides or be split up at the discretion of the coach. CBU allows academic scholarship credits toward their athletic Scholarships to help make offers to additional players. Other schools do not. Some teams also have non scholarship "JV" teams. I am assuming 15 travel with the team and are put in the books.

Just heard that 2015 Brad Miller of Elder is committing to CBU. Played for Shining Stars Price U17 this past year. I think there were several NKY players on that team as well.

Last year at Elder he averaged 15.8 ppg, 41.3% from the field and 39.1% from behind the Arc. Nice pick up for the BUCS.

I'm sure the young Mr. Trentman will be thrilled to have yet another Cincy area player to car pool to Memphis.
