Surprised to see not a single CCH player on there besides Ruthsatz. I know Nick is good but I don't think they won the Championship 1 on 5...

His teammates are good but not all state good.

Any idea when the Courier-Journal and/or AP all-state teams will be released?

Really,,,,,You take the state tournament out of the equation and Ruthsatz would have been lucky to made the honorable mention list.........................How many other kids name could have showed up on this list if their teams would have played in the state tournament,,that is why I believe all of these awards should be based on regular season play..

I'll disagree with the end of your statement. I like to see kids when the lights are brightest. Cream rises. Season isn't over til the round man gives away the trophy.

Seems right to me and it's a testament to the Colonels and how they played.

The only other I would have even considered would have been Cole Von Handorf and HM would be the highest he could have gotten.

Agreed. Good coaching and getting the most out of each player.

My post about 3 posts before yours has the link to the courier journals.

When you include the state tournament in the polls it is not a level playing field.......

CVH,,,,honorable mention,,,,no way,,,maybe later in his career,,,But not NOW......

I'm pretty sure that the HL asks all of the coaches to vote on All State, POY and COY. However if you've been one of the people who've noticed that only 96 (just at one-third of all teams) coaches submitted their players' stats to the KHSAA then you already know that a huge percentage of the coaches in this state have a bad case of apathy when it comes to these things.

Not sure if they don't care, lazy, too uninformed or if this just serves as an example of why so many of them don't do a better job of coaching, period.

Bottom line, it seems that the same coaches who are involved in their regional & state coaches' associations and HOF's are the same ones who traditionally have their team & players competing for district, region & state honors. The worst aspect of this is that your team can have a great coach who does an excellent job but most of the other coaches in your region don't, thus you, your team and your players don't get those coaches' support when it comes to awards recognition like this.

Some coaching staffs have 7 or 8 coaches on the bench to do all kinds of stats, can delegate who enters them into the computer, calls in scores, etc.

Then there are some schools that have a head coach that teaches at the school, maybe one paraprofessional assistant and a dad that helps 'sometimes.' Perhaps instead of not caring, being 'too lazy', too uninformed, or doing a bad job coaching, they would rather spend their time say, I don't know... Improving their team? Or maybe even something crazy like educating the students they teach?

I know I know. Sending in a ballot for this thing would only take a few minutes. That's not my argument. My argument is that the whole 'they don't do stats... they must be bad coaches!' gets tiring. I know several people that have been in that situation and they are doing the best the can as much as they can for their kids....

Very sad. They send it in the mail and via email asking for ballots

This to me is part of the coaches job and if he is not dong this then the school should look into why he is not and reprimand them. The kids deserve it and if you are too lazy or too good to take the time then maybe you should find another profession.

Wow, a shot at the Commish... Please spin that doctor.... :walk:
