I don't see where it says that the pings are not from the black boxes, the article says "What if". I did see something this morning that only one of the pings signals they located, the 5th ping, wasn't from a black box, but that they are confident that the other pings are.

No exact time, but average time is 30 days. Was lost on March 8th. Past the average days now, but when they first heard them it was prior.

Heard on the radio this morning that officials believe the black boxes are now dead. They found an oil slick in the search area and are sending underwater vessels to the area to see if there is wreckage below the water.
