Came home tonight & my next door neighbor had mowed, so I went ahead & took care of mine. At least I don't have to do it this weekend.

I got at least two more weeks. No chance I mow before April.

I have a strict final four rule

I'm ready to but the yard is still too wet. Got a riding lawnmower and don't want the tire mud tracks all over the lawn when it's as wet as it is.

Sounds like you are mowing the Cooper football field?

I was hoping to hold out until April, but the yard was clumpy so I broke down and moved Sunday. I have three different riders and ear protection with a radio, so not a big deal really. It was better than spreading lime and aerating in the pastures all weekend. It looks better actually.

I use this thread to keep track of when I started mowing in the past.

Haven't mowed yet this year. Has anyone started? Every lawn on our street needs it, but no one has cut anything yet.

About 4 houses have mowed in or Subdivision. The mowing companies were out today though so it will be more. I am hoping to wait till next weekend.

Our family farm needs it bad, I didnt get to do a final cut last fall and I may need some goats help at this point.

Wouldnt hold me, lol.

I mowed yesterday so my yard will look really good with 3-6 inches of SNOW on it this weekend. With all this rain this season if I didn't, I would had to gone to the barn and got the bailer out.

I mowed Tuesday night 4/3 for the first time, back yard was absolutely out of control high, but still wet as a swamp but we had more rain coming that night so I bit the bullet and did it. Had pockets of grass that were probably 10 inches high, and everything was at least 6 inches or more, green, wet and thick as could be. Glad we had the cold mornings/nights Wednesday and Thursday, hopefully stunted the growth a little bit and won't have to mow again anytime soon, give the yard time to dry out hopefully.

I did buy a new Poulan push mower with a 6.25 hp Kohler engine on it, local Sears went out of business so bought it on sale while my other mower is on the fritz. Went though that high, thick wet grass like a champ, didn't miss a beat. I was impressed with it.
