Maybe. We'll never know, but its not like he started recruiting Wall, Bledsoe, and Cousins hard when he got to UK. I'm guessing but all three probably were thinking Memphis until he got the job.

I thought that was the case.

Don't worry. He ain't coming back. We'll go 39-1.

Yeah, that loss to UK in the title game will suck for Duke fans.

I think it is just hate. People can talk about who they lost to and when all they want. Duke is currently one of the top 3 programs in college basketball.

UK, Duke and Kansas?

I feel like a UK fan right now. Disappointing season, now looking towards freshmen.

Yeah, I guess we did have one of those in the last 5 years. :lol2:

It would suck but I can't be mad at making the title game.

UK, Duke and arguably UL.

UK, Duke and arguably UL.

No one can argue that Duke will be LOADED next year! If Jabari comes back- that would be unfair with that talent they have coming in. It would be like 1992 all over again.

So basically Cal has done more in the last four years at UK than K has in the last 15 at Duke?

2011 - Final Four

2012 - Championship

2013 - NIT

2014 - Final Four

K has two titles and 1 other Final Four in the past 15 years (according to you guys). Furthermore, he's scattered some Sweet 16's but one elite 8. Seems like Cal is Elite 8 or bust ever since coming to UK, not shabby.

I understand this was in response to the notion Duke always gets booted in the first round, but looking at the numbers I don't see anything super impressive compared to Calipari's Kentucky run. I mean Coach K is the coach of this era I give him that, but I just feel Cal gets slighted because people don't like him. Duke is viewed quite possibly as the most successful, top program in the country and it has taken them 15 years to do what Cal's done in four.

We are all bummed about him. I can't wait to see the 30 for 30 on how SMU landed him.

Pony Excess II.......

No it most certainly would not be like 1992 all over again.

No it most certainly would not be like 1992 all over again.

Why do you say that?

I meant it in terms of talent, expectations and potential success. That team had 8 players drafted from it, was number one the entire season in the polls and went 34-2 winning the regular season and tournament titles in the ACC and the National Championship. They were incredibly talented and successful.

Maybe I should have said "could" instead of "would".

I think people are assuming that losing early to someone bad is a pattern because Coach K became the first coach ever to lose to a 14 and 15 seed right?

A 2 seed Syracuse lost to Richmond a long time ago.

Uhhhh....yeah. I don't think anyone on here has slighted Cal or his success at UK but thanks for the info we already knew. Cool beans, dude.
