UK needs 3 things to change in the second half if they are going to win.

 

1. Better defense, hopefully a zone.

2. Make them pay for all their overplaying on defense, someone has to cut to the basket.

UK "isn't getting calls" because they aren't going to the rim, no other reason. When you don't attack the rim, you aren't creating free throw opportunities for yourself. UK will make a run, they always do. They have to start going to the basket and utilizing their size in the middle.

 

Right now, WSU is playing like they want it more.

They are shooting a very different 54% from the field than Wichita State. The shots Wichita State is hitting (and taking) are likely to continue to be makes and to generate free throws. Kentucky must generate some Offense with movement...they are just standing around like 2-3 weeks ago.

As I said in the prediction thread Cauley- Stine needs to "show up". Two points, two blocks and two fouls is NOT showing up. Is Randle still waiting for the bus? Poythress playing good D but not in the O at all. Ky's BIGS have to show up in the 2nd half to have a shot. Go Cats !!!

Randle didn't get a couple of calls early when he got fouled inside, so he just quit attacking the basket. He has to be a force on the inside if UK has any chance.

Wichita State's aggressive D is causing UK lots of problems, and UK's non-aggressive D is killing the Cats on the other end.
