Belmont too(doh, realized the best them but barely). It's completely fair. Coach K is the 6th coach to lose 5 times to a double numbered seed.

I'd say unfair since they just won a title in 2010.

I dunno....but University of Kentucky graduates everywhere are now placing the Mercer Bears into that special place in their hearts where the Lehigh Mountain Hawks and the VCU Rams had already gone.

they didn't choke. They were who I said they were all along. It's those that thought they were a top team this year who have to choke down those words. Not Duke. They weren't very good in the first place.

Duke was a 13 point favorite today, I'd say they choked in Vegas eyes. I would trust Vegas before I trusted the seedlings.

I trust PP92 to know more about his team than Vegas. And he proved why today.

He is THE man.

I trust PP explicitly after today! Only one in my office who took Mercer out of over 100 entries and I am currently in 1st place! woo hoo!

Did not watch game (good day to get yard work started). But in the summary Duke was outsourced in the paint a lot. My son quickly said - they have no big guys that is why they were outscored by so much in the paint. Difference between chocking and not having the tools. Its still basketball and having some big guys still matters.

I guess the definition of Choke would have to be defined first...

(in sports) fail to perform at a crucial point of a game or contest owing to a failure of nerve.

"we were the only team not to choke when it came to the crunch"

synonyms: underachieve, under perform, disappoint, lose, collapse, fall apart

Weird thing is you never hear about coach K or Duke and how they miss more often than they hit when it comes to tournament success.

Well, it is because when it is brought up even before the tournament starts you are told you haven't a clue.

Isnt that Coach K's 5th time losing to a double digit deeded team?

Coach K is the premier coach in the game. He has won four titles. He's won 82 tournament game with a 77% win rate. He's good. Do they choke occasionally? Heck yeah they do, as does everyone else. But they have been, far and away, the most dominant program of the last 30 years, so I'm good with it.

Duke never chokes. I hate that about them. Sometimes the underdog wins.
