Clyde
The "reached for something" seems sketchy but the dad will never be charged. Zero chance.
Clyde
The daughter will have to live with this guilt forever.
Jim Schue
The daughter will have to live with this guilt forever. And highly possibly, alone.
TAC
The daughter will have to live with this guilt forever. Because she denied knowing the boy? Did she ever admit that she did know him?
MJAlltheWay24
It will only take a quick look at he girl's cellphone history to prove that she probably invited the boy over.
jericho
In defense of the dad, read the news, people break into houses all the time and rape or kill people. Kids get snatched all the time like this. Maybe he thought this was the case, maybe he didnt. Just yesterday 3 men broke into a house, beat a legal blind man and raped his 6 month prenant wife. I'm all about gun rights, stand your ground, and castle doctrine.....plus I have a son and daughter.....but I feel he might need to be charged...... jericho
I'm all about gun rights, stand your ground, and castle doctrine.....plus I have a son and daughter.....but I feel he might need to be charged...... Well he did have a heart attack or something afterwards and had to be rushed to the hospital. It isnt like he was jumping up and down and beign proud he did it. It must have been a terrible mistake and tragedy. If I go into my girls toom and some guy is in there late at night and she says she doesnt know him and he reaches for something I am going to shoot him. My family comes first. Clyde
Because she denied knowing the boy? Did she ever admit that she did know him? Maybe I read too much into the "the girl INITIALLY denied...." line. If you had to place a wager do you think she knew the kid or not?
TAC
Maybe I read too much into the "the girl INITIALLY denied...." line. If you had to place a wager do you think she knew the kid or not? I'm a gambling man, I'm betting the farm that she knew him and the only weapon he had on him was intended for her use until daddy walked in. I think MJ has the right idea. They will figure out if they knew each other. If they did, she will have nightmares, If not she will still have nightmares and the kid got what was coming to him. Wireman
I'm going to say the daughter invited the boy over. The father has a right to defend his family if he thinks they are in danger. I'm not sure he needed to kill the boy but it's hard to say without being there.
jericho
Maybe I read too much into the "the girl INITIALLY denied...." line. If you had to place a wager do you think she knew the kid or not? If I walked into my girls room, I would assume she knows the boy. Now if she is feaking out and saying she doesnt know him, and as a parent you should know when your kid is really being honest, then a bad thing will happen
CBDV
I've read the article, and it is all over the main gun board that I am a member of. The gun community is about 60/40 that it wasn't a good shoot with the limited details we have. I'd bet money she knew him.
spindoc
I have to think his compromised health (wheelchair issue, whatever it was) had to play a role. A. Girl made multiple mistakes, the worst of which was denying she knew the boy B. Boy should have said "yessir, I'm leaving right now" instead of running his yap C. Dad should have used deadly force as a last resort and I have a hard time thinking that is the case. Sad deal all around.
