Predictions?

This game should be fun to watch. Hoptown wants to run and South Oldham wants to shoot 3s. Should be exciting.

I believe these two played each other last year in the first round with Hoptown winning big. Jitters probably won't be much of a factor.

Hoptown won by 22 last year.

I think Hoptown wins it all.

Hoptown by 14

Hopkinsville by 20.

Maybe I'll be surprised, but I think that, on the whole:

1. Teams who haven't been there much before generally don't fare well in the opening session.

2. Teams who rely on outside shooting generally don't play their best in first round games.

Hopkinsville is one of the tournament favorites. South Oldham still has last year's beatdown at the hands of the same Hoptown team they'll face damaging their psyche, plus have the disadvantage of meeting the two criteria for teams who generally don't fare well listed above.

Hopkinsville is just too much, and once again, it all comes too fast for South Oldham. Probably the most poorly written melodrama of any first round game if we're following the same script from last year-- the antagonists character arc might not have much time to develop, as they appear to be a group of wounded dolphins who've (again) escaped their aquarium only to find themselves in a tank of sharks.
