The Rebels are a game short on their 2014 schedule after Whitley County paid $4,000 to buy its way out of the contract with the Rebels.

“Whitley County felt like it was in their best interest not to play us. We are looking for a game to fill our schedule but it makes it really tough on us at this point because most everyone is in the second year of their contracts. We are considering all options at this point and we won't rule out looking out of state,” LeMonds said.

Boyle's looking for Week #7 or Week #10.

They must be making a boat load at the water park down there! I do not know want to hear how schools are broke if we are paying money to get out of a high school game.

No clue what Whitley's situation is but if they are going to some type of bowl game maybe they are guaranteed 5,000.......:ohbrother:

The game was scheduled for week #10 and there are no bowl games the last week of the regular season. Last year Whitley's bye week was week #6 and don't think there are any that late in the year either. Unless they have changed the dates around on some of there games from last year, but that is very difficult to do.

In the long run I feel this is better for both teams. Boyle gets the 4K and hopefully a game that can get them better prepared for the playoffs.

It was sarcasm........Sorry.

If only Whitley would have backed out sooner could have had a Highlands Boyle game in week 7 maybe........At least I read in another thread with seven pages that Highlands was looking for either week 0 or week 7.

BG seems to open week 10.

That would be a really nice game to see and with both probably looking at an easy game the following week it could be good for both teams.

I'm sure PurplePride would love this matchup! Wonder who he would cheer for?

I would absolutely love this matchup and I would truly hope for both teams to play one their best games of the year. Last time they played each other BG blew them out.

Actually would be a great side story with the streak. By then BG will have broken it or it would be ended. BC vs BG. Last two who had a streak of 47 or beyond.

If it would happen, it would probably would be the best match up in week #10. Personally I would like to see it happen. As Rebel said it could get them prepared for the playoffs. :ylsuper:

The last thing a coach is looking for is to play an opponent in week 10 that can hurt some of your key players. Think about it. If you have chance to make a run in the playoffs, that game doesn't mean a thing.

Whitley County also bought out of a bowl game in Morristown Tn. next season that apparently cost them more than the Boyle County buyout.

Who have they got to fill those games with. It will be hard finding one game but 2.

I really don't know, but I'm sure it will be someone who they feel like they can beat. I am going to guess Lynn Camp in week 1 and maybe a Tenn team in the week they should have played Boyle.
