Highlands to host 8A Christopher Columbus Miami (FL)

Clown show? OUCH! I guess you mean like the clown show that Collins beat in the state finals? Cake eaters crack me up.

You're reading comprehension shows the same ability as your football knowledge, why don't you check who used the clown show label first in this thread?

CC's opponents were 90-48 last season which shows they played some quality teams, while they didn't beat any of the higher ranked teams on their schedule.

Yea my football knowledge is horrible! Picked SK to go 10-0 during the season and picked Collins to beat Highlands at the beginning of the season. I guess you and my haters have no football knowledge?

Actually you picked SK to win it all and you picked HHS to lose several times. Next.

I would like to hear more about this team. Anyone?

At first blush this sounds like a completely different animal than the clown show that showed up last year.

Clown show finished 9-3 losing in second round of playoffs. They were out of shape though.

No said they would go 10-0 first then win state.

And you made the same prediction the year they went 2-9 :lol2:

Since we are talking last years records, their JV was undefeated. Well, they like HHS didn't play all their games. They went 4-0 with a game cancelled. Crazy the similarities.

Even though it was only 4 games for the JV, defense must have been pretty stout.

Columbus 45 - Miami 0

Columbus 48 - Coral Park 0

Columbus 27 - Coral Gables 0

Columbus 34 - Miami Beach 0

Here we go again. Another one in the toilet.

With this latest addition can someone post the 2014 schedule?

Can someone do one of those SOS comparisons so I can see how weak of a schedule HHS is either playing or not.

If this team is an 8a team in Fl, then you can bet they'll be a solid team. Didn't trinity have 5 or 6 losses last year? just sayin'.

Highlands continues to land quality out of state opponents. Decades of hard work and great coaching are paying off big time. Congrats to all involved.

According to Wikipedia, they have 1350 all boy enrollment and approx 84% Hispanic, 13% white. They have very impressive facilities and some very notable athletic alumni: Eddie Alvarez 2014 Sochi Olympic speedskater, Jon Jay, former Reds picture Rob Murphy, Brian Griese, Alonzo Highsmith, and Mike Shula. Tuition costs $9500 a year to attend.

First let me preface by saying I see Highlands going undefeated next year and winning another State Championship. They have the players and coaches to fulfill that.

Now if they hit a bump or two along the way with a loss to a non district team, then that will have no bearing on them winning a State Championship. Playing those type games against tough and better competition will only better themselves as a team and prepare them for the Ultimate goal. It also helps with exposure for the kids on a National level. There are the kids that will generate notice no matter what. But playing big time competition against teams with high exposure as possibly TV time will benefit the others without the typical exposure. I see these type games as a win/win for everyone.

Their QB is rated #4 by Maxpreps top 100. I'm thinking this may be the same kid that two of Highlands players have already played against in the USA football camp. He was white team captain when Beau Hoge and Andrew Abner went to the USA camp a couple three years ago. I think TBirds can add to that.

Either way, after watching some Hudl film on this team and their players, they will be nowhere near the "clown show" team from last year. This team will be a battle for Highlands. Will be great exposure for both. That's what it's all about anyway.

But didn't HHS fans continue to talk up the team they played last year even after the game, and now you call it a clown show just so you can talk up this new opponent. 7-5 is not a top team no matter what class they play in. Don't start talking the team up as if they are ranked #5 in the country.
