February 19, 201412 yr I really didn't have much of a problem with the foul. By today's rules that is a Flagrant, but just a few years back that would have been assessed as a personal foul. It didn't bother me either and I completely understand why Marshall did it.
February 19, 201412 yr Agree, but all part of the learning process of going from High School to College and playing in a new and demanding system. As Cal has stated, " had to break old habits, which is hard". We didn't have the twins all summer, which put them behind the learning process also. As you know I never played high school or college ball.... heck I didn't play ball at all, I was a cheerleader.....:lol2: but I have been around the UK program long enough to know what all these kids go through, which makes me appreciate what these players sacrifice for us UK fans. It makes me sad when I see negative posts after negative posts on this team when there are positive things they can point out too. 26 posts in this thread on a great road win. Look at the loss against Florida....3 pages....:idunno: Living in Texas, one thing I can tell you about Randle's high school program is that it would STOMP most small colleges. If you are a good basketball player in the DFW Metroplex (a huge metro area) then you've probably heard of Prestonwood. I don't think the competition in their divisions is up to par with them (talked to a high school coach tonight who explained the divisions, playoffs, etc. in Texas, which I can break down sometime if you'd like). What I do know is that the school has quite the reputation as a basketball power. They are a notch below places like Oak Hill, Montverde, etc. If more of the better athletes in Texas didn't play football, they'd be right up there with them.

February 19, 201412 yr Good win for the Cats. They are continuing to make progress which is good to see. Loved the way they attacked in the first half. A lot of careless turnovers but at least some of those were caused by us playing so fast, which isn't a bad thing IMO, just needs to be cleaned up a bit. They looked really good in the zone for the brief moments they were in it. If I had to guess, I'd bet they are practicing it a lot and not just tipping their hand right now and will start using it more and more as the postseason is upon us. Also, GREAT free throw shooting! I agree with whoever said that they didn't like the faces Cal was making. It's entertaining as a fan, but when he gets on the Harrisons and others about body language he needs to make sure he's living up to it on his end as well. But, other than that, no complaints.
February 19, 201412 yr Marshall Henderson is the most overrated player in college basketball I am not sure how most people rate him. I wouldn't say that highly to begin with. He is a streaky, gunning shooter that can make some decent passes. The entire Ole Miss offense is predicated upon him running around and drawing attention. Beyond that he is below mid-major level talent.
February 19, 201412 yr Good road win. Played fantastic, outside of the turnovers, for about 32 minutes. Looked terrible the last 8. Gotta put 40 together. As to Henderson, I don't like him, but there's no denying he's entertaining to watch. "What's he listening to right now?" "The voices inside his head." That exchange between the announcers last night had me rolling. :lol2:

Takes terrible shot after terrible shot, doesn't guard, and is a complete distraction to his team.

February 19, 201412 yr In an effort to post when they win too: Awesome free throw shooting tonight. Randle had some pep to his step from the start tonight. I'm not a fan of Cal disrespecting the players with sarcastic faces. I always get worried when there are 5 minutes or more left and we start to take the air out of the ball. I would have enjoyed it if Randle had pounded Henderson into the ground on that last foul... I agree with your comment about Cal making sarcastic faces at his players. That has to be a slight turnoff to potential recruits watching on TV. I realize he still signs great players but his posturing and distorted facial expressions has to be a little embarrassing to his players, and recruits have to notice. Seems like he has been worse with that part of his coaching style the past two years more than his first years at UK.
February 19, 201412 yr Blows my mind that a player can blantanlty yell "Oh my effing God" right in front of an official (after completely flopping at that) and not get a technical. I'm referring to the jumper he airballed with about 52 seconds left. Everyone knew the foul on Randle was going to be ugly. I'm surprised it wasn't worse and good job to Randle for keeping his cool. The worst was early in the game IMO. He was throwing his hands in the air, running around, cursing, etc. Nothing from the refs. Continued to do it on every foul call that went against Ole Miss. Disgraceful to himself, his coach, his team and the officials.

February 19, 201412 yr For anyone that missed it.... Marshall Henderson Thought He Was Fouled. You Won?t Believe What Happened Next. | The Big Lead It's funny how he completely ignored the fact that he lowered his shoulder & rammed pretty hard into Andrew Harrison.
