9th Region POY Battle

Featured Replies

Ruthsatz 2pt 168-381 44.1%, 3pt 59-162 36.4%, Ft 134-175 76.6%, Rebounds 100 4.2 per game

Hatton 2pt 155-349 44%, 3pt 73-175 41.7%, Ft 134-163 82.2%, Rebounds 63 2.7 per game

Here are the stats off KHSAA website. Seems to me offensively they are very similar. However I would have thought Hatton would have more rebounds?

The KHSAA website does not show assist's but I would guess that Ruthsatz has more than either Bolden or Hatton

There were no stats on Bolden but he takes his fair share of shots also.

Ruthsatz also plays defense, just as had as he plays Offense.

Last I checked the best player on your team was suppose to take the most shots.

As a Dixie fan, the kid from Cov Cath deserves it. McDonald second, and Hatton bringing up the rear.

I have to go with Nick Ruthsatz. He does have a good supporting cast, but honestly if you take him out of the mix, CCH is as an average team at best. Not sure what CCH has lined up next season , but without Ruthsatz on the court, next year may be a challenge. Ruthsatz has the full game. He can drive , pull up , dish and shoot threes. He even goes amongst the tall ones and grabs key rebounds. He handles the ball better than any guard in the nineth region. He has the ability to take over a game. I haven't seen any of the other players mentioned including Bolden do that. Its a shame he isn't a few inches taller, because if he was he would be playing D1 next year.

It's interesting that Hatton is a Mr BBall finalist, but it sounds like the majority of people here are picking Ruthsatz as 9th region POY.

???????????????????????????????????????????

McDonald pours out steady stats every game, his problem with winning POY is that his team has so many weapons that his numbers may not reflect how good he is and how much he helps the team. Drew had solid games, but it seemed like a different player stepped up every game. I want him on my team though he is not a flashy as the other 3, as he is a better teammate. That may hurt his chances for an award.

He is my favorite this year for POY. Even if Drew is not the team high scorer, NCC wins because of Drew.

Agreed, however, I think since he is a junior he will have to wait a year for his POY. That and the fact Ruthsatz has had an incredible year.

Ruthsatz will be POY this year (McDonald runner up)

McDonald will be POY next year.

I can make arguments for four different players.

It will be very interesting to see who wins it.

This debate can go on for ever,,,as well as the 11th region,Davis,Gilbert, etc or the 7th,,Snider,Martin,etc, and right on down the line....Will someone please step up and declare a winner..?

I have seen them all play several times. I would have them in this order.

1-Ruthsatz (most complete player offense and defense)

2-Bolden

3-Hatton

I totally disagree with Ruthsatz being selfish.

Please don't act like Bolden and Hatton don't get their fair share of shots up per game. I would say they both shot as much, or more shots and have less assists per game.

All three of these players are very good, and should be taking the majority of shots on their team.

Can we just call you Tommy Tutone?

What does grade have to do with this award?

What does grade have to do with this award?

Agreed. James Bolden won last year as a sophomore.

Is this Enquirer player of the year or NKAC player of the year?

Agreed. James Bolden won last year as a sophomore.

To me, Ruthsatz and McDonald are 1 and 1a. You can't go wrong with either option.

Just my opinion, however, I would defer to the senior, all things being equal.

The intangibles they both bring to the game separate them from their competition.

Ruthsatz did not win the Sweet 16 by himself, but he was the cream of the 9th Region crop.

Ruthsatz a great player and actor .
