April 1, 201412 yr The Content1 family will see it. I'm disappointed with fellow christians who have placed their blinders on and are unable to have an open heart and mind towards this film. Many are simply not going to see it based on critics reviews and it's not religuous enough. I'm paraphrasing what I've read. I saw an interview with the director this last weekend who said the following. We did not contradict biblical account in the making of the film, however, made room to inject creativity into the scenes. It's a movie for crying out loud. Ofcourse there's going to be "creative" scenes and some plot lines out of biblical context. This doesn't make it a bad film. Am I not going to see it because of that? I'll go and enjoy the directors interpretation. CWB hit the nail on the head. To make a movie of the Genesis account one would have to exercise creativity to fill 1.5-2 hours of theatre time. :thumb: Are you also disappointed in your "fellow Christians" who aren't going to see it because it looks really really stupid to them?
April 1, 201412 yr How about if I don't go because I don't like Russell Crowe? :yuck: Am I off the hook then?
April 2, 201412 yr After thinking it over last night, I still can't tell exactly what I should say about this movie (we went last night). In short, don't waste your time or money, I wasn't impressed. I'd say it was okay to bad. I know you have to take some liberties with the story but I just didn't understand the route it took with some of it. Interesting but not good.

April 2, 201412 yr How about if I don't go because I don't like Russell Crowe? :yuck: Am I off the hook then? Good enough reason for me!
April 2, 201412 yr Are you also disappointed in your "fellow Christians" who aren't going to see it because it looks really really stupid to them? You and lawildcat are off the hook for the reasons provided. HB, not so much! :lol2:
April 2, 201412 yr If you're going to watch the movie, don't read the following until after: ?Noah?: The Bible vs. the Blockbuster - The Daily Beast After reading this article, it does change my opinion on the movie a little. But I'd still hold out until Netflix or Redbox.
April 2, 201412 yr There is no WAY I'd pay money for this. Russell Crowe is... not great. That alone would keep me out of a theater.
April 13, 201412 yr Author OK first I want to apologize for starting this thread two months ago. Second this movie is abysmal. Pretty much had to set aside any Biblical thoughts about this movie 3 minutes in when these things came to life and started talking. There are some Biblical similarities with the movie, some of the names are correct, there is an Ark in both, there is a flood in both, there are animals on the Ark and they hit land at the end. I've only walked out of one movie, but this movie is on the short list of movies I'd probably never watch again. It has little to no redeeming value.

I don't plan on watching on DVD, streaming or any other way available. A friend described it as the worst movie he's seen since Howard the Duck. :lol2:

April 13, 201412 yr Howard the Duck? I didn't know anybody actually watched that movie.Me either. :lol2: Noah must be horrible to be mentioned in that vein.
August 24, 201412 yr Hated it. Very weird and very disturbing. It was his choice to see it, not mine, he really wanted to see it. The only thing good about it is that now, whenever he brings up that I made him see "The Crying Game" and "The Piano", I can throw this one back at him. :lol2:
February 18, 201511 yr I DVR'd it off of EPIX the other night...wow was it bad. In all sincerity, I thought more of Russell Crowe's and Anthony Hopkins' abilities to select scripts than to sign up for a movie like that.
February 18, 201511 yr I didn't even finish watching it when I rented it a few months back...not just bad, but boring as well.
