I'm looking forward to seeing this one. Probably second on my list right now, behind Monument's Men.

I'm interested in seeing how they show how it rains 6 inches per minute, 30 feet per hour, and 720 feet per day in order to have enough water to cover the highest mountains on earth in 40 days.

Read a while back where the screenings did not go very well and they took the movie back and did some re-editing. That usually not a good sign.

I've read that they strayed from the Bible quite a bit in the making. Took a lot of poetic license.

 

Not to be a smart aleck, but wouldn't you have to use a fair amount of poetic license, so to speak? The entirety of Noah and the flood as it appears in Genesis is only like 100 sentences long.

Not yet, had one friend post that he thought it was a waste of money. Then another liked it, I'm guessing we will see it soon.

Almost went last night but I was just too excited after the UK game.

Dang sequels are never as good

I have heard nothing but bad reviews on this. My daughter who works at the movie theater said people are walking out and asking for refunds.

I heard something about they go the entire movie without using the word "God" once. How is that possible with a movie made directly from the Bible?

 

Completely unrelated, I've heard it's probably the worst movie of both Watson and Crowe's careers.

For what it's worth, Jews have traditionally never used the word "God". Although Noah lived a good while before Judaism existed, he was instead the great¹⁰-grandfather of Jacob, the first Jew. I would assume the omission of the word had something to do with the Jewish tradition regarding the word.

 

As for being Crowe's worst movie...it's tough to beat The Man With The Iron Fists. I guess I'll have to see it to believe it.

Completely forgot about that one....Let me rephrase...Crowe's 2nd worst movie of all-time.

The Content1 family will see it. I'm disappointed with fellow christians who have placed their blinders on and are unable to have an open heart and mind towards this film. Many are simply not going to see it based on critics reviews and it's not religuous enough. I'm paraphrasing what I've read.

 

I saw an interview with the director this last weekend who said the following. We did not contradict biblical account in the making of the film, however, made room to inject creativity into the scenes. It's a movie for crying out loud. Ofcourse there's going to be "creative" scenes and some plot lines out of biblical context. This doesn't make it a bad film. Am I not going to see it because of that? I'll go and enjoy the directors interpretation.

 

CWB hit the nail on the head. To make a movie of the Genesis account one would have to exercise creativity to fill 1.5-2 hours of theatre time. :thumb:

My daughter saw the movie and really really liked it. I will see it eventually. A lot of movies I want to see such as God's not dead and Heaven is real. It is a bit of a coincidence that the movies I am looking forward to most are religious movies.
