Ramos is recuperating from an ACL tear and will be out until at least July, but is expected to start once he's healthy. In the meantime, the Rays currently have Luke Maile, Jesus Sucre and Curt Casali competing for the starting spot come opening day.

I believe I read or heard somewhere last year that if a player spends one day on the 25 man roster he makes the the salary that his major league contract stipulates for the whole season even if he only spends 1 day on the roster.
