It is times like this that I really miss Cawood Ledford.

Kentucky wins a close one here. Hickey will play big again. The Tigers are going to be in the NCAA tournament. They are a good solid team. Watch out for them in March.

It's my understanding that one of the officials has no way of getting to Baton Rouge. That being said, the assigner has most of the day to get one of his guys to the game and there at least 2 SEC guys from Louisiana.

Wouldn't that be a "conflict of interest?"

Just some info I thought I would share. In 2012 we had the " Breadfast Club" This year seems like another one has a name:

The Cats are learning to love the grind

Before they got on their fancy charter, Willie Cauley-Stein, Julius Randle, and John Calipari met with the media to talk about Tuesday’s game. Over the past few weeks, the Cats have made baby steps of progress, which they attribute to the hard work they put in over winter break. Julius Randle said that he and his teammates have “fallen in love” with the grind, and it’s resulting in better teamwork on the court:

“Anything you do is going to be a grind, but I think the biggest thing is we learn to enjoy and love the grind and love the process. It just makes things a lot easier.
We’ve fallen in love with the whole process of getting better and changing habits
, and because of that, it’s been smooth for us.”

Willie agreed, saying that last season, there weren’t many people that went to the gym late at night for extra work (you don’t say): “Now it’s like that. We’ve got three or four or five guys doing that every night. It shows that we really buy into this and we’re trying to get better every day.” " Midnight Club".

[h=2]Match-ups To Watch @LSU[/h]

Johnny O’Bryant Vs Julius Randle

The SEC’s favorite Irishman was the primary reason LSU was expected to make some noise in conference play this year. At 3-3 the Tigers are below that 4th place preseason votebut Johnny O’ Bryant living up to expectations by playing like a first team all-SEC guy.

It’s yet another challenge for Julius Randle to overcome and one that will be mainly fought on the glass. The Tigers are 11th in the nation in rebounding. The Cats are 5th. This game looks like it will have a lot of similarities to Tennessee with the two teams waging a war on the block.

Anthony Hickey Vs Andrew Harrison

The homegrown Kentucky talent seems to always save his best games for his home state. In last year’s game the point guard went for 15 points, 3 steals, and an assist. In two games against the national champs Hickey averaged 7.5 points, 3.5 rebounds, and 4.5 assists. Andrew Harrison has really stepped up his play since the Louisville game and should be able do physically dominate 5’11 Hickey. However, you can’t take anything for granted against the scrapper from Christian County. If Hickey has a similar performance to the one he turned in last season the Cats could be in trouble.

So why did ESPN assign Dakich to cover the Cats?

The same reason Bobby Knight has called UK games in the past: they know it will create a stir. Just like ESPN knows Kentucky fans will stay up for the late games, they know they’ll watch Dakich, and if he does get in a jab at the Cats, explode about it on social media. Even the Worldwide Leader trolls sometimes.

Will you take the bait, or turn the sound down and radio up tomorrow night?

Not really. As long as he has no ties to LSU it's not a big deal. There are guys from KY that referee for KY schools quite a bit. Brent Hampton from Lexington has UofL a couple of times a year. Tom Eads from Mulhlenburg Co used to referee UK 3-5 times a year.

By the way, the officials for tonight are Ted Valentine. One of the best in the country.

Mark Whitehead. He's the one from LA. Good official. Worked Final Four last year and the UK/UofL game in December.

3rd official is Anthony Jordan. I don't have anything good to say about AJ so I'll keep my mouth shut.

And I am fine with all that if Dakich or Knight were good at their trade. They are both terrible commentators. It is obvious he has a disdain for UK, but there is no rule that says you have to be a fan to provide analysis. They deliver a message and it is the fan's job to decipher what they want of the message. Now if he goes totally outlandish that is another thing all together.

Pulling for Hickey!!!!
