Richard Sherman

Featured Replies

So what is everyone mad about? The interview? The butt slap/antagonizing hand shake/choke gesture? Both?

The interview is funny, especially the version with Mean Gene Okerland.

I just didn't like the butt slap/handshake/choke gesture.

I have no problem with how Sherman acted.

1. He backed up his talk with his play on the field. It was a good play by him to tip that throw.

2. He said he was the #1 CB in the NFL......Is he not? thought so!

3. IMO Crabtree has been a mediocre WR thus far, some due to injury but still.

4. He's pumped about tipping a potential TD that would have sent his team home instead of to the Super Bowl...Is that so wrong?

I'll play Devil's Advocate:

1. He was thrown at twice and made one good play. As Crabtree said- watch the film. Kaepernick had a couple of huge runs where the Niners specifically ran at Sherman, including the long 50+ yarder where Sherman missed a tackle with an awful angle.

2. If you are the best, others will say it. I still think Revis is better. Plus, corners look a lot better with safeties like Thomas and Chancellor taking away deep halves of the field. Think I am making that up- look at how easy it has been for guys to fill in for Brandon Browner since he has been out.

3. Crabtree is better than any receiver Seattle trotted out there yesterday, just saying...

4. Russell Wilson was pumped; Earl Thomas was pumped; Pete Carroll was pumped. They managed to express themselves appropriately. BTW, Kaepernick throws that ball to the back of the end zone as he should have and Sherman is the goat in the game.

Even my wife said what's the big deal. She understands that football players are gladiators and that he exhibited raw emotion after an intense game.

1. If he could tackle he'd be a safety. He can cover so he is a corner. I believe he even played some WR at Stanford.

2. Revis is not better.

3. Truth

4. None of them just made a game saving play. It doesn't matter where Kaep should have put the ball. Sherman had to make a play on the ball that Kaep did throw while being pushed off from his mortal enemy.

I know you're just trying to play devil's advocate but those are easy to dismiss.

1. Even Manning throws an interception but the best make plays when the game is on the line and he did.

2. I've not heard anything about Revis being the best in 2 years. I've heard plenty mention Sherman as the best CB in the NFL this season, probably not unanimous though.

3. Even though he's probably better than any Seattle WR that just means they're all mediocre as well. Doesn't make Crabtree any better though.

4. Wilson and Carroll were pumped for the win yeah, but they hadn't been talking smack to an opponent all game but Crabtree and Sherman battled against each other all game and had "beef" even before that so they're matchup was a little more personal, thus Sherman was a little more pumped.

1. That's lame. Football players play football. Tackling is part if the job. If he could tackle, he'd be as good as Revis.

2. Whatever- bad wheel, wrong defense- they still don't throw at Revis.

3. :thumb:

4. Neither did Sherman- I believe Smith picked the ball. It absolutely matters where Kaep put the ball- throw it where it is designed and we aren't having this conversation.

1. He played okay and made a good play at the right time, no more no less. Talk as much as he does, you better be Deion.

2. You do realize most of the talk about Sherman being the best comes from Sherman, right? The talk about Revis came from and comes from his peers and coaches.

3. Okay, but your receivers still suck- worry about your own team, IMO.

4. You don't think the Niners D were chirping at Wilson? You don't think Boldin sent some verbal jabs at Earl Thomas? You don't think Pete Carroll wanted to beat Harbaugh? Being professional isn't a sometimes thing, IMO.

Even my wife said what's the big deal. She understands that football players are gladiators and that he exhibited raw emotion after an intense game.

I agree 110% with the passion right after the game he exported in the Erin Andrews interview, but what about after he showed and was part of the post game press conference after he had time to calm down? He still came off sounding the same.

Even the Skip Bayless thing that once again is making the rounds he shows the fact he has no tact. For someone supposed to be as intelligent as he is supposed to be, he sure likes coming off sounding like an immature chump.

I bet there are more than a few that think the skip Bayless thing just happened, it didn't. That happened a year ago. That is just how Sherman is so for peolple to excuse his remarks by saying it occured in the heat of the moment seconds after the game are wrong, he always comes off like a punk. It's how he is.

1. Still made the play when it needed to be done.

2. Actually from things I've read from nfl analyst they say that Sherman is the best right now. Revis had 1 good year, then an okay year and then was hurt. Far from great IMO.

3. It was brought up and I simply responded. Just like someone being the tallest midget in the room.

4. Carroll and Harbaugh aren't facing each other on the field or talking smack 50+ plays a game. Yeah some coaches have rivalries but it's different when you're face to face with someone.

1. Agree, but no more no less. Save the jibber jabber at the end like you were a world beater during the game. You're still wondering where Kaep went on that 50 yarder.

2. Revis, Tillman, Petersen, Joseph, Grimes, Hall, Hayden and even your teammate Browner all are in your stratosphere or better. Most of those guys don't get to play with safeties like the ones Sherman plays with to help them.

3. :thumb:

4. Whatever man- Harbaugh and Carroll have been beefing for almost a decade. They kept it professional. Sherman could have found a way to do the same and chose not to.

1. He can't tackle but yet 32 teams would take Sherman over Revis.

2. That's because he isn't on the field.

4. Smith isn't picking that ball with Sherman's coverage. Come on now.

Since Richard Sherman entered the league:

- 1st in interceptions (20)

- 1st in passes defensed (61)

- 1st in Opponent QB Rating when targeted (39.4)

1. Awesome, then Sherman should learn how to tackle consistently to make his game even better.

2. Revis must be a magician- making the Pro Bowl this year without being on the field, and all.

4. If Smith doesn't pick that ball, it falls to the ground and the Niners get at least one more crack at the end zone- let's not get it twisted now like Smith's hustle was irrelevant.

4. You're right he could have but it's not a big deal that he didn't.
