January 18, 201412 yr 23 for 24 on free throws = 95.8% 8 turnovers for the game (3 in the second half) Great game for UK!
January 18, 201412 yr What about the twins the second half. Jewell's the first half. FT shooting...:clap:
January 18, 201412 yr That's what makes this team dangerous IMO, the ability to get production from multiple guys. If somebody cools off there's usually always going to be somebody to pick up the slack on the offensive end. Most teams only have one or two "go to" guys and Kentucky has four or five. All it takes is for any one of them to have a good game and then decent games from a couple of the others. If they can just get consistent defense, rebounding, and limit mistakes they should be able to get points on the board from some combination of players.
January 18, 201412 yr Reposting from the update thread: Three things standing out after the this week: 1. The Harrisons look much more comfortable and are carving out roles for themselves. 2. Julius Randle is trying to take the leadership mantle and I LOVE IT! 3. Coach Cal is using the depth we have and now we are seeing real contributions from guys like Dakari and Poulsen. Poythress looks like an integral part of this team because he is getting regular time. Now on a day like today where WCS and Young aren't their best, we can overcome it.
January 18, 201412 yr Great job by Andrew Harrison. Love that free throw shooting from the team, but especially from him. Thought Dakari did some nice things today too. Willie? Not so much. Wasn't the ugly game I imagined, but it was pretty physical.

January 18, 201412 yr Possibly the worst game I've seen Willie play. Good thing is the others played well.
January 18, 201412 yr Cats cut the turnovers, hit foul shots, played excellent Defense = WIN :ylsuper: The twins combined for around 35-36 points I believe. This one was just a good "Team" win. Rebounding was the only thing that was down today. Both Harrison's are playing with more and more confidence. I think that maybe they were a little intimidated for a while with the college game, they were maybe questioning themselves when they weren't dominating everyone like they did in high school. This U.K. team is now improving, playing well every time out. When / if someone is having trouble - not playing well a teammate will pick it up. 2-1 in the SEC, Texas A&M coming into Rupp on Tuesday night ! GO BIG BLUE !!!
January 18, 201412 yr Thomas Beisner @Beisner_cn2 Andrew Harrison is the 11th freshman to score 26 points under John Calipari. Prior to his hire, 11 players in UK history had done it.
January 18, 201412 yr Possibly the worst game I've seen Willie play. Good thing is the others played well. Cal may need to play Johnson more to motivate WCS. Johnson is a much better offensive player, so if Willie is getting it done by blocking shots and rebounding, he should lose playing time.
January 18, 201412 yr Great all around game by the wildcats today. Really? I certainly didn't get that from the game thread. I thought 1. Randle was selfish 2. Cats couldn't rebound 3. This team is stupid. 4. Defense is awful 5. One of the Harrison twins should have sat the bench from about the 15 minute mark of the 1st half for the rest of the game. 6.Tennessee is the better team.
