Reds keeping Homer Bailey?

Featured Replies

I'm talking this season going forward. Maybe it's what have you done for me lately, but I'd rather rely on Homer to finish strong and give me innings and be ready in the post season than Cueto. The Tiant thing ain't workin'.

The Reds have said his motion did not cause his injury.

The Reds aren't as smart as we are. I say it's wasted motion that puts pressure on his oblique.

I'd tend to agree with you but I would think if it was the reason he would have changed back and/or the Reds would have told him to change back.

Blame it on his translator.

I think they are stupid to sign Bailey hes a .500 head case pitcher. Sign Latos and Stephenson steps in next year for the 7 year "prospect" Beetle Bailey. :idunno:

I don't think it's time to start rebuilding but this season could be the start of a retooling. Trade Bailey and Phillips hopefully before the deadline. Try to get some quality prospects. Rebuild the farm system with those trades. Sign Latos long term and try to sign Cueto. Get a FA bat next offseason with the money you saved from BP. The window is closing to win a World Series. They need to figure out how to short term rebuild to buy themselves a new window albeit shorter while Votto is in his prime.

Homer Bailey is probably the most under rated Red by most fans in their history.

Um...Corky Miller...

A report says 6 yr~$100M is in play.

Why? I don't agree with that amount at all. They'll be spread too thin to sign Latos.

Not with new TV money coming online. I think they'll get both extended if Latos has another good year. They let Cueto walk, and go with those two. I'm ok with that.

That's a steal considering the current pitching market.

No doubt about it Cueto is 1 if they are all healthy all year. Cueto for sure has more questions coming into the season.

Latos missing the WC start and having arm surgery sure does get glossed over by some Reds fans.

You ignoring the parts where I asked who was the number 1 or where I said Cueto for sure has the most questions coming in? Just picking and choosing something to disagree with b/c it's me?

Seriously though why are there no concerns over the Latos injury? He had an arm issue bad enough that he couldn't pitch the WC game even though the rotation was set up for him. The arm required surgery too. Sure I think he will have the better year b/c he's more likely to be healthy but if they are both healthy I still think Cueto is better.

Are you arguing that Homer is better than Cueto?

Who was that super smart guy that kept harping on the Latos injury issue in January while others were so worried about Cueto? Sure Cueto may prove the others right too, but man someone sure seemed sure there was more wrong with Latos than what was thought.

All kidding aside the Reds better hope Cueto can stay healthy b/c elbow injuries to pitchers aren't all that neat and the Reds seem to have a major problem getting pitchers back from injury.

This is my favorite thing I hear from folks -- how / why will their TV deal go way up? Because the Reds want it too? Who are they going to use to pit against FS Ohio to drive the cost up? If I'm sitting in Cleveland and running FS Ohio, and I just bought SportsTime Ohio, and I hear about the Reds counting on this huge increase, my initial offer is 50% of the last deal and I sit back and chuckle.
