316-151. Wow.

Congratulations to Coach McGlone, he is definitely deserving of a well-earned rest. He really built the Russell program and his record speaks for itself and he is well respected among his peers. I hope the timing of his retirement was his own choosing.

Doesn't Russell have some long-time assistant coaches? Will they hire from within or look outside?

Is Coach Morris still coaching?

Much respect to McGlone... had the privilege one summer of talking football with him for a lengthy conversation and he is first class.

that says a LOT on it's own.

Just a great coach, and a great, great man.

Coach McGlone ranks 7th in KY in all time coaching wins, and he is 2nd among active coaches.

How many coaches have ever coached 38 years at one school?

Add in 4 seasons at Huntington WV, where his record was 28-20-3, and his overall record is 42 years, 344-171-3.

Coach Morris would be my choice!

Is Lee Evans a candidate?

Coach McGlone built a wonderful football tradition at Russell. Respected by both players and his peers. He will be greatly missed but I am sure what he has built there will continue. Just an impressive record and man

Maybe it's not all roses on Red Devil Ln.

On Tuesday, McGlone met with school administrative officials again. "The suggestion is that I would stay one year and they could honor me," McGlone said. "But if I'm OK, why couldn't I do it the year after next? So I said, 'No, but I could stay three.' When I said that, I was almost immediately fired at that point.

"I'm glad I didn't say four years. They'd have probably executed me," McGlone chuckled.

The Flatwoods legend

Royals use Russell as program measuring stick

It will not be the same going to Flatwoods in 2014 without my good friend and one of the finest people and coaches I've ever known on the other sideline. I know how much of a blessing Ivan has been to me and when you multiply that by the hundreds it is really incredible.

One of my favorite things about competing with Ivan and the Red Devils is as much as we wanted to win those always big games, my respect for him, his staff, and program was just as big. It is cool when you compete and have a rivalry with a program AND you have a great amount of respect for them.

Thank you to Coach McGlone for all that he has meant to so many. God Bless Ivan!
