It's one thing to replace a legend Head Coach, it's entirely different to replace an entire staff

I concur with all the great things said about Coach. I also played for him a long time ago, but I still remember some of his coaching moments like it was yesterday. I've had about 4 or 5 people that have impacted my life. Coach is definitely one of them.

Both are classless!

That really bothers me that a man with this much class could not go out in a better way than this. sad sad sad

I went back to 1998,when has this great man had a loosing season. this is really sad.

Looks like 1997, 3-7. Six total losing seasons in 37 years.

All time record in 37 years of 316-151.

All other coaches in Russell history are 251-215 in 54 years.

Thanks for that update. Little late to the party Captain.

Haha, yea, you got me on this one. We were busy with winter weights and football stuff.....

As someone who has played and coached against Coach McGlone this is a sad time. Any high school coach would love to have the success that Coach McGlone has had, along with the class and dignity that he has shown. For high school coaches, he is truly what we all aspire to be, or at least I hope what we all aspire to be. He is one of the nicest individuals you'd ever care to meet, and his success in our area is second to none.

From what info is coming out of Russell H.S. it seems that long time asst. Morris didn't retire, he was forced out in the same classless way as McGlone. I believe that all the other assts. are off the staff as well, not sure on that one.

Just a thought / hunch on my part - I look for one, maybe more of the Russell staff to be coachg at that school in the Westwood section of Ashland (if they want to continue coaching and can't find anything better) - jmo

That will never happen.

Here you go....from Huntington, Fairview asst. 2009-2012 ?:idunno:

Fred Ray named head coach of Fairview.

I posted my comments in the thread about the Fairview coaching hire but to state it again, I think it is a good hire. I was shocked they didn't go outside the area for a hire but still yet, a good hire.
