I enjoyed watching Quinton play youth leagues for Beverly Hills. He's a great kid and no doubt will be successful playing on the next level. I will make it a point to catch at least one Ashland game this year.

Freddie Ray is one of the best people I know. He always has a smile, a honest and positive role model. I do not know a better Christian. He loves God and sets the bar high. The kids love and respect him. He will run a college no huddle offense. I enjoyed watching him in college and also for the indoor semi-pro teams. He will bring stability to the recent choas. I'm no fan of what happened to Nate, but Freddie is a really good hire. I know many posters have opinions on Fairview, but Nate McPeek is a good man and coach. He deserves another oppurtunity as well....

I'm not currently aware Nate's career plans. He's first class and all that know him personally will tell you that. He was a former all American lineman that played at Marshall University (Huntington WV) and was poised to be a first round draft choice until a back injury derailed him. He was unaware of the Ashland kid not being eligible, and I 100% believe him. Nate is very trusting and takes the high ground. He lives his Christian beliefs, and now chooses to take the high ground unlike the many many many many many false allegations of the linch mob. I'm definitely not the official Fairview voice, not qualified at all really. I can only speak to my experiences and not others. I can say that many of the same linch mob who made false allegations about my family last year, are making some of the same accusations about others now. I guess that is what a message board is for, its just sad that some people unconnected might actually believe the fiction without knowing the facts. I was asked about my residence, I own several houses in WV and currently do not own any in Kentucky. I'm looking to buy a farm near Morehead in the next few months (Investment). The Westwood residence I lived at (Not Musick Owned) was an apartment. I did enter into negotiations with the owner, but major foundation issues exceeded my investment risk. I'm curious as to what is fact and fiction. Everyone has opinions and some might be right, I know some things to be false... I guess tomorrow will shed some light on the situation. I read many statements last year that my family was recruited to Fairview, that we lived in Mr. Musicks property, my bills and lawyer fees were paid by Fairview, and lots of other completely false claims. I was not a member of this site, and read these posts from many of the same people that are now making many of the same claims. In my case the claims were false. The players removed the helmet decal to place tape saying "67 brothers". They apparently are having a tough time and support the coach. I know Coach McPeek and have respect and admiration for him. I do not know the details, but know Nate is a good man.

I went to Morehead and rooted for them, and they lost. I went to Ashland and rooted for Raceland, and they lost. I'm going to LC Friday and root for Fairview, I hope my bad luck stays home! I'm really excited to see how these two teams stack up. I will predict Fairview despite my bad luck, remember it took Fairview a few games last year to get rolling and the schedule was a friend. I see a really talented Fairview team and wonder if they are ready for a stiff challenge this early. We will find out Friday.

Ashland 20-14* I predict Baker scores 3 TDs. * I also predict Messer scores at least once and if he gets a pick 6 or special teams TD, I like Raceland to win (21-20).

Fairview looks much better overall team-wise than last year.

I hear the kids love Fairview and just want to share their experience.

The community overwhelmingly supports Fairview, despite what Mad Eagle portrays.

Ram, I will give you my opinion. I think the improved schedule could help, but having blow outs also builds depth and can boost the overall morale of the team. The backups and third team kids get a chance to play when games are over early. Last season playing against Pikeville and Hazard didn't seem to be an issue. Injuries were few and that can aid in a playoff run. I think the state championship game was allot of early mistakes, more than schedule issues, and a good Mayfield team. I think getting to play in the state championship game last season will help this years team be focused. I still believe that it's going to be either Raceland or Fairview going to state. Mcpeek and Roark are both division 1 talented lineman. I'm biased, but think their both first team all state quality players. They would start on any team in the state.

Mad Eagle, if you're really an Eagle fan, stop with the misinformation and bashing of the school. Take your issues to the proper place. Anyone going to the Hatfield/McCoy game Saturday? Any predictions?

Bouvier played with my son last year on the National Guard Bengals 7 on 7 team. They finished in 3rd place out of 32 NFL teams. David reminds me of Wes Welker, on and off the field he is a class act. I hope Lexington Catholic does great!

I think the East side will be either Fairview or Raceland. Fairview did lose some great players (5-6) starters total, but a few new additions and the bulk of the team is back. The team is going to be bigger, stronger and faster. Don't be surprised if the Eagles are better than last year. Just my 2 cents.

I doubt that is true since they are best friends. Nate, also has more class than to pull that kind of stunt. I did hear Midland landed one of Huntington's best RB's. A reliable source informed me that Donte Hendricks is now enrolled at Midland. Donte ran a 4.4 sec 40yd at the NUC. Raceland fans should be happy that he didn't transfer to Fairview. A few more Huntington players, including the other best RB, is looking to transfer, don't be surprised if some land in Ashland.

Fairview and Hazard play in regular season, so a benchmark will be available. I thought the Hazard fans were first class and like that the two teams will meet again.

After a witch hunt and multiple attempts by the KHSAA, the two Fairview players were ruled ineligible. Darren Billbarry who was a college teammate of Racelands head coach TJ Maynard was the lead investigator. The KHSAA appealed all the way to the Supreme Court and lost. The only spectator in the courtroom was the ex- Raceland Superintendent. It was not Ashland that had a dog in the fight. It's a shame that tax payer money was used for a date of enrollment discrepancy. The date was no fault of the players and thus the reason KHSAA lost. The two players had Bona Fide moves. The rent and legal cost were picked up by the families. The two players are good kids which will be playing football for Morehead State and Eastern Kentucky. Don't be surprised if more kids transfer from Huntington. The Huntington coach is not popular with most families, small school environment with no armed police in the hallways, a staff that cares about the kids. Why wouldn't families want put their kids in a better environment. Some of the families looking to better themselves at Fairview have some nasty football players. I look for the Eagles to reload and then some.
