Does Hazard have what it takes to make it back to the big game?

 

What do they have returning? What's the schedule looking like this year?

I'd love to help you all out, but a few things I have learned the last couple years: 1. we never know who is going to be playing for Fairview until the opening game of the season, and then it's still not concrete. 2. The KHSAA has no teeth to enforce their rules so long as the the court local to the offending school is the venue of jurisdiction.

 

But, I can tell you that I have heard from several sources that Fairview has hired a new assistant coach. Where's he from? Huntington, West Virginia. It's almost comical.

Do a search and you can read all about it from last season (I don't want to thread jack this thread). The KHSAA did attempt to enforce the rules, I don't want people think they did not, but a local judge who is also associated with Fairview heard the case and overruled the KHSAA.

Unless Fairview gets a ton of new (good) players I don't see them even winning their district.

I'm new to bluegrass preps but your a Raceland guy so why worry about Fairview so much? Seems to me like you have a good program so why care about Fairview? I'm from lexington originally but have seen Fairview and Raceland play last few seasons its amazing what Fairview has done last few years with facilities, and winning. I believe both programs are single a and both have high percentage of out of district students both inside and ourside communities, so why gripe? Sorry I'm not too smart but seems like if you focus more on the kids getting better at Raceland and not so much focus on Fairview you would better off for it. Good luck to both teams but I have feeling Fairview won't give up district title lightly like so many are suggesting. I don't think teams disappear after state title game run.

My gosh, you are right. I have seen the error of my ways now. It just took words of wisdom from you to make we realize that. And, again, you are correct, what Fairview has done with new bleachers, new playing surface, huge new scoreboard, and the large amount of money they put in their football stadium is great. Too bad they had to enact a new tax on the residents to fix their fall down high school.

 

And since you are "obviously" new to the area, you may want to speak with more of the Westwood residences, they are not happy with what is going on at Fairview. In fact, there are a lot more unhappy then I.

 

Great to have with you with us, but you sound familiar, I can't place it, but definitely familiar.

I would assume that side of 1A will be down, One notable loss for Hazard has to be Olinger who felt like he went there for 12 years. Depending on what Williamsburg brings back, I'm gonna say they probably make the trip to BG to the Mayfield invitational. Pikeville and Hazard may be in the mix though, Pikeville has a good young nucleus but may be a year away.
