You can actually find a Belfry/Pikeille game from 88 on youtube, if you're interested. I stumbled across it just browsing, and that's what made me interested. It looks like Belfry had a fine team that year as well.

Do you happen to know what the score was when Belfry beat them in 89? Or what kind of season Belfry had that year?

I agree that Chapman was a great DC, but Halcomb still had some pretty good teams, and if Belfry wasn't standing in their way they would have made it back to BG, more than once.

So Fairview doesn't list the players on their team? What rules arent the khsaa inforcing? Sorry, don't know much about Fairview.

Who beat Hazard out last year? Was it Fairview?

Yes, I believe in 87 and 88 they were undefeated, and Belfry beat them in 89.

Well when you get Mike Halcomb as Head Coach, I would say that's already a big improvment.
