Ballard wins. Again.

Can't help but wonder how much of a difference Spalding would have made. He was having a good game.

I wasn't at the game but I think Spalding would've made a big difference. I am turning into a big Ray fan. But let's also acknowledge that Ballard has a 6'6" player hurt, too --- Cory Douglas. If and when they meet again, let it be at full strength.

He and Brandon Berry collided heads. Neither came back in.

Any updates on Ray and Cory will be much appreciated! Right now tournament site covers only the first half but maybe they'll know something.

Jason Frakes just tweeted that Ray may have had a concussion, which would be the concern with Cory too.

Absolutely. A Trinity/Ballard game when both teams are completely healthy will be a thing to behold.

Everybody Loves Raymond. Hope he is OK. (The Ballard player, too, of course.)

The difference he makes is obvious. When spalding was in the game no one was finishing around the rim including Martin, as soon as he went out Ballard controlled the boards and the inside game.

Spalding definitely would have made a difference, he was a force inside before he went out with the injury. Don't know that Trinity would have won, but his presence was missed. Very entertaining game to watch.

If and when the teams meet again (and it appears likely that they will), here's my philosophy in taking Ballard.

 

To win the game, Trinity likely has to slow it to a grind and play solid defense. Even then, it leaves them so susceptible to Ballard going on that one (or maybe those two) big runs where they push the lead out and Trinity can't recover. If Ballard gets any kind of a lead around 10-12, Trinity completely has to abandon their game plan. If Trinity jumps out to a 10-12 point lead, Ballard only ramps their game plan up that much more if I'm guessing.

Ballard now is first in KOB tournament championships.

Where are all the posters who said the Ballard/NCC semifinal should really be the final since the "other" two semifinalists will get "smashed" on Monday night. Seems like the "other" two semifinalists held there own.........LOL
