TTS_JF Posted December 19, 2013 Posted December 19, 2013 Reading the thread about the loudest crowds got me to thinking what are some of the places you would visit if you could for a game. No particual order I got off the top of my head The Pit for New Mexico Lobos Game Hinkle Fieldhouse for Butler Cameron for Duke Phog Allen for Kansas & I will never get to but always wanted to attend Big East Tourny at MSG.
Wireman Posted December 19, 2013 Posted December 19, 2013 They are all on my bucket list. I'll check out any arena I can get in and a few times, I've literally "found" a door open and wondered in.
TTS_JF Posted December 19, 2013 Author Posted December 19, 2013 I agree I love to visit new Arenas; whether I have a rooting interest or not.
Jack of all Trades Posted December 19, 2013 Posted December 19, 2013 I have a goal in life to visit as many stadiums/arenas as possible before I die. Also want to hit as many horse racing tracks as I can as well. May be something I can focus on a little more when the kids are out of the house. Would love to take in a game at Fenway in Boston, the Boston Garden, Madison Square Garden, Wrigley in Chicago. Just some that I would like to hit someday.
MentschTrachtGottLacht Posted December 19, 2013 Posted December 19, 2013 ......... While you wouldn't think about them as Bucket List venues, a few to think about: * Georgia's basketball arena has a big disco ball hanging over the court. Don't ask why, just appreciate it. * LSU's basketball arena is old school, has great charm, and gets very, very loud when it is packed (which it was when I was there). * Florida's O-Dome, if you are sitting on the end of the court opposite the Florida bench, has a strong chlorine smell (oddly charming). They also have the most expensive hot dogs I ever remember buying. * John Paul Jones arena at Virginia is the FINEST on-campus arena in America. Not close. * If you go to the Ryan Center at Rhode Island, get someone to escort you down the hall past the locker rooms and into the "old side" of the building. About 50 yards down the hall you'll take a right into the old building (where Lamar Odom played) -- it is as cozy as you've ever seen for a college building. * Chaifetz in Saint Louis is new, nice, and has great amenities. * Go to UD Arena for a Xavier game. You'll thank me later. Craziest atmosphere, with one of America's best pep-bands, you've ever been a part of. * Hinkle. You may call it charming and historic, I may call it a dump, either way, you need to see a game there. * Pauley Pavilion -- really cool place. Hip. * McKale Center in Arizona -- reminds me of being at a football game at Nebraska, as soon as you enter for a big game you are just overwhelmed by nice people with a TON of school spirit. Just a few off the top of my head.
MentschTrachtGottLacht Posted December 19, 2013 Posted December 19, 2013 ..... Been to Memorial at Vandy four times and left it off for a reason. Aggravating, odd, peculiar, tough to navigate....I'd add it to the Miley Cyrus list, not the bucket list.

MentschTrachtGottLacht Posted December 19, 2013 Posted December 19, 2013 I thought it was odd but cool. The concourses are the worst in America, can't even believe they aren't shut down by the Fire Marshall. You never have any idea where you are. The concrete corners are peculiar, it feels very small and segmented. I'm sure people love it, I on the other hand would introduce it to "wrecking ball".
GrizzlyAdams Posted December 19, 2013 Posted December 19, 2013 Be in the Cameron Crazies for a Duke/UNC game.

Just a few off the top of my head. I've been to the O-Dome several times. It was the sister to the USF Sundome (identical structure with different colors), until the Sundome was renovated year before last. They're planning to renovate O'Connell as well. Next year, I think. Hot dog prices will not go down. :(
MJAlltheWay24 Posted December 19, 2013 Posted December 19, 2013 I'm probably a little boring but I'm just happy to watch Kentucky play wherever and whenever I can, its really a treat and special experience for me every time. So not exactly bucket list, but I just want to get to a few more games with dad, diehard UK fan for 60+ years. We went to his first game ever back during the 2003-2004 season. We are heading to our second together on Jan. 8th vs. Mississippi State. To play along, I would like to watch a Kentucky game in Madison Square Garden and the Barclays Center.

We did it a few weeks ago and it was a unbelievable experience. I could of did without the $9.25 Bottle Beer though. So I tried to get a draft beer and it was also $9.25.....I know....don't drink the beer. MSG would be a cool time as well.
spindoc Posted December 19, 2013 Posted December 19, 2013 Kinda always wanted to go to the Carrier Dome.
