December 6, 201312 yr Let's hear it, the good or the bad. Thus far, it's looking like the same coverage I've had will cost our company about the same, but, our out of pocket is going to double. Not happy. When I find more out about the plan (which may take a couple of months) I'll report back on it. If out of pocket is going to double for the majority, it's going to hurt an awful lot of people.
December 6, 201312 yr Raised my premium by 75 dollars per month. Which was roughly a 47% increase. This is a grandfathered plan and not an exchange plan.
December 6, 201312 yr According to the Gov after he ripped Mitch a new one , Ky is in love with Obamacare .. From what I hear here in Lewis Co. at my place of practice the public is 99% against this take over and pretty much despise our current president.
December 6, 201312 yr Mine went up a little bit but there were some changes to my plan. I liked my old plan, and it was not available through my work anymore.

December 7, 201312 yr Obamacare has already cost us more than $5000 a year, but I've already gone over that months before. Still not happy.
December 8, 201312 yr Doubled my premium. Made the local hospital clinic "out of network". Will not cover one of my medications.

December 8, 201312 yr Doubled my premium and co-pay up $10 for OV. ER up $58, UCC up $29 (over double).
December 8, 201312 yr First, I am a registered Democrat living in Lewis Co. Actually, I am probably only one of 10 registered Democrats living in Lewis Co.(I'm exaggerating, but only slightly). At any rate, my health insurance got cancelled, so I had to sign up for this. We chose an option that was comparable to the policy we have had for over 20 years and it is going to cost us $175 more PER MONTH. We just did this yesterday and I am FURIOUS. I can't even begin to say all of the things that I think are wrong with this, plus what it is going to do to our country. We're already in a bad place. If I turn out to be wrong, I will be the first to say so. But I have no faith in the federal government managing anything fiduciary-wise anymore, let alone adding something as complicated as health insurance and health care. Bah humbug.
December 9, 201312 yr Author So far, there doesn't seem to much, if any, good from The Affordable Care Act and it seems to be less than affordable for most. I thought I'd surely see posts of the good it's done them from those that supported the new law, but so far it's a bust.
December 9, 201312 yr Oddly enough our insurance has not moved this year. However the cost has increased the 5 previous years in some capacity. The only difference I typically see are the premium hikes since I am never ill, nor have kids, so I never fill the effects of the co-pays, deductibles, etc. We are fortunate compared to most though.

Company provided? If so the full effects will not kick in till 2014 renewal (for 2015) with the (illegal) delay in the company mandate. Mine went up around 10%. Not good, but not the impact of the plans that conform to the law. Probably driven by the requirement to cover children up to 26 years of age and pre-existing conditions. I believe that these did go into the 2014 rates as they are required already.
