Clearly they don't based on the punishment handed out. Those calling for forfeiture of draft picks are the ones they disagree with, and the ones blowing it way out of proportion.

The ending pissed me off. He's got all the juice now. I want to know what he did with it.

I think everyone is overreacting a bit to this. He screwed up, apologized, and accepted full responsibility and blame.

 

If there's anyone to be outraged at, it isn't Tomlin, it's the idiots in the striped shirts that were too boneheaded to throw a dang penalty flag and give the Ravens the TD.

 

I may be wrong, but I don't think the Ref's have the authority to do more than throw a flag and award a touchdown. And that's the problem, and why this needs to be dealt with harshly. If it will only cost you a fine and 15 yards, but could win you a game, why WOULDN'T you do it. Very little risk, very big reward. And I don't think ref's should be in the speculation business when making calls. It's a tough call to make (most of the time) to decide whether or not a player will score when you are focused on solely what's going on in front of you.

I think it is possible for even the greatest of men/women to get caught up in the moment and do things they normally would not do.

I can't remember the show, but I heard some talk on the radio today that perhaps they were waiting to see if this incident could affect the Ravens playoff situation. Apparently one of the tiebreakers (apparently somewhat down the list) is points scored. If a scenerio arrises in which the Ravens lose a playoff spot due to scoring only 3 points in that possession instead of the probable 7 with a return TD, that the league might then punish Pittsburg further with either the loss of or a draft pick or a lesser draft pick instead.

Like I said, I may be wrong:isurrender: I didn't see the broadcast, and have since figured out that they could have awarded a TD. Regardless, an action like this does damage the integrity of the game, and should be dealt with seriously.

Yes. He knew exactly what he was doing. Anyone that has ever spent any time along a sidelines knows this was not an innocent mistake. Let me put it this way. If he is that out of touch in the moment with no concept of the play developing or where it may be coming, the man does not need to be coaching football. And we know that is not the case.
