Tomlin hit with 100K fine

Featured Replies

Yes. He knew exactly what he was doing. Anyone that has ever spent any time along a sidelines knows this was not an innocent mistake. Let me put it this way. If he is that out of touch in the moment with no concept of the play developing or where it may be coming, the man does not need to be coaching football. And we know that is not the case.

No way he did it purposely. None.

Speaking to the integrity of the game I believe the NFL needs to take away something like a 5th round choice. Not a killer to any team but it sends a very strong message.

That's an absolutely absurd punishment for this offense.

We all use hindsight to drop the hammer on this one. So, with that said, no matter the intent, it didn't affect the outcome of the game. There's rumbling at the league office that if a tiebreaker were to occur and Baltimore was within a reasonable point differential where the outcome of that play could have affected their position, then draft pick loss could occur. Of course, I read a report this morning that stated that wasn't true at all.

Still, the Bengal colored shades in this thread are everywhere. Love it.

I agree, what reason would he have to do that? If he was going to tackle the guy at least he should have turned around.

If he didn't know what he was doing then he has developed a serous case of Alzheimer's and has no business coaching in the NFL. He was trying to be slick and shrewd and pushed the envelope too far before he moved. If he really didn't know they were coming he would have been run over.

I am fine with his apology and fine. Time to move along. Tomlin is one of my 3 favorite coaches in football.

He was trying to do both, but not do both if that makes sense. Make it look like he was not aware of what was taking place and (maybe) alter the play. Sort of like that sneaky kid in everyone's neighborhood. Knows the rules and how to push them but wants to come off as innocent.

I know what you mean, but I just cant believe he would. Stupid on his part if he did and deserves to be fired if he did and cost the steelers a draft pick.

Take a lil from a millionaire doesn't really bother him. Suspend him for a game or two would.

Who has the shades on!? LOL

Yes, he did it on purpose.

Agree!

Yes, he did it on purpose.

I didn't realize anyone thought differently.

Jason LaCanfora reports the league will take a draft pick away. It will not happen until draft order has been set.

I didn't realize anyone thought differently.

Unless I missed UKMF's sarcasm I was thinking he thought it was accidental.
