Glad that Towels Red Shirt was left on...absolutely no reason "Big Picture" to burn it for him or the team.

 

Once again UK's one of biggest issues was lack of quality depth across the board...looks like that could improve over the next couple of seasons.

 

QB was a disaster, team never had an identity on O due to revolving injured QB's

 

Punter U...didn't have a Punter this year...if there is a kid (HS Sr.) out there that pounds the ball he needs to go knock on Mark Stoops door.

 

WR's more athletic than in the past but need to work on hand and foot work in the off season. Catch a million Tennis Balls in the off season and run precise routes every day.

 

Athleticism of Front Seven is a worry going forward with losses from this season, LB's need more speed.

I would say I saw no improvement on the offensive side of the ball. It was a mess. They sold the fans on "Air Raid" and they had "WTH RAID" I know they had QB issues. But still had more talent on offense than defense. But still that was awful.

 

Defense I saw the most improvement. They got better as the year went foward.

 

Stoops himself at times seemed fustarted with his offensive coaching staff. He better get more involved and make sure those guys are devloping players. Stoops did the best he could do with the pile of rubbish that Joker left.

Bottom line not enough quality players to compete this year. Peyton Manning could have been under center and it would have made little difference. Issues on the o-line and WR positions were too many to overcome.

Why in the world would anyone want to review the season?

Based upon the fact the team got worse as the season sent on and quit vs Georgia. Only 2 wins were against glorified high schools. No positive momentum in the offseason and the team is clueless on who the QB will be in August, not exactly what you would consider a good or decent season.

I don't, he's terrible. He's a step too slow to play on the SEC.

The Georgia game was a big let down for me. If anyone thought they were getting better, that game should have put that theory to rest.

 

It wasn't just the Alabama or Georgia game either, remember how well they played against Florida (lone score on a fake FG). As we saw at the end of the season, Florida was a poor team. Tennessee was average at best and the Cats did little in that game.

 

BTW, the great recruiting class that is coming in is still ranked 7th in their own conference. I guess they are making up the gap on Vandy, Miss, and Miss St.

I know you like him and all but he's not shown anything to make us believe he should start. He's a good player but not starting.

Simpson didn't get on the field because he was backing up Williamson. He will make a good mlb next year. Don't forget he had 70 plus tackles last year.

UK has a Juco linebacker coming in that will start right away.

The lbs will be Paschal, Flanigan, and Henderson. Then you add in the likes of Hendrix, Forrest. Simpson will be the odd man out. I won't be surprised if he's a key backup. Or since he's a senior and won't play, they ask him to move on.

WKU game was a big letdown for me. After that, I definitely dialed things back a bit.

 

It's going to be a slow and painful building process, but at least now it looks as though there's a plan in place.

24/7 has him as the 7th best player in the nation. I try not to pay to much attention to the stars and just try to focus on the offers (Elam has Alabama, Notre Dame, Ohio State, and Louisville). So if he's good enough for Nick Saban he's good enough for UK. IMO
