There are provision established when the score goes back under 36. It is still considered a running but there are more times when the clock stops than when the score is at 36 or greater.

"1. Once the running clock provisions are implemented, the clock shall continue to run from the point that the differential occurs (without regard to a later return to less than the differential) with the following clarifications:"

 

Then the link goes on to explain the scenarios or occurrences that cause the clock to stop.

I reread the rule and stand corrected.

Birds need to stop clock watching when they get a running clock. Stop trying to not lose and try to win. The prevent defense prevents you from winning! The Birds just sat back and put no pressure on the qb and he picked them apart in the second half..One of these times it is going to bite them in the arse..

Wrong answer here my friend. The only backup in the game was the QB and the RB who have each seen extensive action in the last month or so.

Well that precedent does have to concern you a little bit going into next weekend, but Highlands usually plays their best in the state finals so I'm thinking you're right - #7 in a row next Saturday afternoon!

You can't honestly believe that they just let Lex Cath come back to within seven points with full confidence that they were in no trouble at all. As much as I believe in this team and their amazing abilities, that's just too far of a stretch. The truth is, the Knights came out on fire and the Birds were flat and made some key mistakes. Then they could never quite get back on track. Thank goodness for the running clock.

BF, that wasn't geared toward my quote, was it? I'm in no way insinuating they let Lexington Catholic back into the game. I was saying that if Collins is as good as many say they are, Highlands will have to put the pedal down from the get go and keep it there (much like they did last year against Collins).
