Derrick Rose injured...again

Featured Replies

Derrick Rose likely out for the season. The star point guard has a meniscus tear in his right knee.

Hate to say it, but his career might end up being like Brandon Roy's.

If it's really only a meniscus there is no way he's out for the season..

Read that it would take 4-6 months to heal. Maybe I read it wrong.

It's D Rose, he could miss a season with an ingrown nail

Hate to see this. He's too athletic for his fragile body. Will he need to change his style to have a long career? I'm thinking he needs to go see Kobe's German surgeons.

Get some of that WWII German Super Soldier Juice shot into his knee like Kobe did...

His styles built around being athletic and quick so even it he did tweak his style I don't think he would be the D Rose we all know. His outside shot has got a lot better but most of his game is still using his athleticism to get to the rack and break people down. Hopefully he can be more like Chris Paul instead of some of these other guys coming off knee injuries, hate to see a guy go from MVP to all IR.

Just went under surgery today and is out for the season. Via ESPN.

Yeah that stings.

Luckiest person in this horrible situation, Marquis Teague. At least they're not four or five guards ahead of him like last season, should be up to him and Hinrich to carry the load at the point.

Sad thing is we will never see the very best Rose could have been. Terrible news for basketball fans.

Am I the only who thinks soft when I hear meniscus out for the year 10 games in?

Nope... Especially not with the medical care he'll have access to.

I really feel for Rose. Knee surgery is a lonely place and to have to deal with it in back to back seasons sucks.

I always heard that Meniscus surgery was 6-8 weeks rehab and that is for us normal folks. Surprised he isn't coming back at the end of Jan.

Crabtree tears an Achilles in May and will be back this week. Rose tore his meniscus and missed a year??? I tore medial and lateral meniscus. I was out a few weeks and back to full strength within a couple of months. Rose=soft.
