That's what I'm thinking. I had meniscus tears in my knee a few years ago...along with quite a bit of arthritis, don't take all that long to heal from. Meniscus tears are a dime a dozen these days with athletes and it's almost unheard of missing a whole season due to one. I could see maybe bringing him back slowly what with his previous injury and all...but the whole season? Either it was more than a meniscus tear or Rose just will not play if he doesn't feel he is absolutely 100%.

Rose is soft. That's all there is to it. Before too long, his reputation will have players not wanting him on their team for fear that he might twist his ankle and be out for 2 years.

Pretty sure the meniscus surgery you guys are talking about is the snip, that does take 6-8 weeks. Pretty sure he went with the repair surgery which takes longer. The snip basically just cut the tear and leaves you with no meniscus. You can also get a replacement, he just repaired the tear.

Sprained ankles weren't serious injuries until Drake rapped about sprained ankles in the song with Kanye and Eminem. Forever maybe...... Now they are epidemic.

Found the following on rehab if one does a meniscus repair, where it is actually sutured back together rather than the damaged parts snipped and removed as occurs with most of the population when having a tear.

By 3 to 4 months, most surgeons will allow return to full activities and no longer protect the knee. Patients must slowly return to sports and competition, but they no longer have restrictions on motion and do not require the use of a brace.

 

So, he had the surgery last week. Lets just say mid November to make it easy. 4 months would be mid March, just in time for a playoff push. So, even with this situation where it takes longer to recover from...why are they already ruling him out? Or has HE ruled himself out already? At some point, they guy writing his paychecks has got to step in and get him on the court I would think.

I'm the biggest Bulls fan on here and I hate to say it but D. Rose is another version of Brandon Roy. I'd love to see Rose come back to his full potential but that will never happen.

 

I hope the Bulls don't make the playoffs so they can get a shot at the #1 draft pick next June, if they make the playoffs then they best do some trading in the offseason to move up and stop trading away all their draft picks.
