Agree.....time to really look into the staff and see who is helping move the program along and who is not. Crank out the records again VOR. The watered down 1A is not the happy place it once was for Beechwood. Something isn't right and nobody knows what it is. If it is just talent, then you are discrediting the coaching staff. Of course, reading another thread on the game, maybe it was the refs. They had the sinister plan to knock off the Tigers tonight. Part of the vast anti-Beechwood conspiracy around the bluegrass.

Tell me what they have done? Have they won anything they weren't supposed to win? I say no.

Just because they aren't winning state titles in the past 4 plus years doesn't mean they aren't a good coaching staff! They have ran into a buzz saw named Mayfield!

What you are seeing is denial by the Beechwood community to see something that is obvious to everyone else. I have been saying this for years and have been laughed at, but I have seen the play over the years and that is what I know.

 

Some will say the talent isn't as good as it used to be. Nobody knows that for sure, but I do believe when you stop winning state championships that the players that are choosing between a few schools stop having you at the top of their list. Yes Beechwood gets many non district kids because of the academics and the band, etc, but football is not talked about nearly as much by those that have choices as it was years ago. That is an irrefutable fact. It correlates with the state championship dry era.

Beechwood High School has the most talented coaching staff in No. Ky. PERIOD! They are simply a year away from getting back to dominating Class A football. Loaded with Sophmores, who will grow into being great players, it is difficult to beat teams that are loaded with upperclassmen. Once they get the talent level back up by winning State Championships, they will once again reign as a Class A powerhouse. You can be the worst coach in the world and win with talent, yet you can also be the greatest coach in the world and not beat anyone with a lack of talent. This is not to take away from the upperclassmen Beechwood had this year. I believe they lost a few solid seniors early in the year due to injury. This really hurts a smaller school where 1-2 players can make all the difference in the world. The bottom line is, I would take Beechwood's coaching staff over any staff in No. Ky. without question! Take it from someone who knows what they are talking about. You can complain, blame it on the coaches, do all the things that frustrated fans do, but in the end you have to look beyond that and ask yourself if you really have the horses to get it done? If Beechwood had the upperclassmen horses and failed to advance, I would understand what you are saying. I think you will be singing a different tune next year and the years following!

I'm a huge Beechwood fan, been to numerous State Championship games they've won. Went to school there and until I had my own son playing HS football I bled BW red and white every single football season. With that said, even a biased fan like myself cant go as far as to say Beechwood has the coaching staff in the NKY area.

 

I'm not one who comes on here and says little johnny should be playing more blah blah blah type of stuff and the last 4 years I had no dog in the fight because I was too wrapped up in following my own sons team etc. but I do know of a couple players who can down right play for BW but had been put on the back burner for the super soph's etc. These players did play but were not used as much as I thought they could have been used to help the team. With that said, that IS a coaching thing and not a player thing or lack of talent thing. Just saying.

 

To say they don't have the talent in the upperclassmen is wrong. I think of upper classman as Jr's and Sr's and this team did have the talent in the upperclassmen this year. I won't say the coaching staff needs to be shook up, but II will say they are not the best coaches in NKY.

 

 

I understand what you are trying to say, but I wouldn't of pulled the UK#1fan type of post that you did because you basically put yourself in a tough spot claiming they will win a state championship next year and the year after. That is basically what you said. So what happens now if they don't next year? Are you gonna admit the coaches aren't the best?

One thing you are missing coach has standards not just winning. When he suspended all those players instead of sweeping it under the rug, my kids can play for him any day. Quit worrying about state titles and worry about are your kids being taught the right morals. Every team goes through down yrs BW will be back at the top and as long as Noel is there they will learn more then just football.

Perhaps the down economy has something to do with all of this. Is BW still getting as many kids from Hebron they once did?

Personally, I don't think Rash needs to go, but he needs to make changes in his staff.

 

First, Hergott has to go. He has got to be one of the worst play callers, oops "offensive coordinators" around. Time for him to go.

 

Line Coaches... Something different needs to be done there. D1 type Lineman don't come along too often in a small school program, so you better learn to coach the guys you have and get the most from them. D1 and Pro blocking schemes do not work. Who was the line coach for Yeagle? is he available, I say bring him back.

 

And just for the heck of it, get a few more off the sidelines. Do you really need 15 coaches watching the game from the sidelines. Give them a job or get them off the sideline.
