I think so, too. Frankfort's a solid ballclub and according to Coach Buckett, 95% of the team are underclassmen, so, they could be scary good next year, as well. I'd imagine when the year started, considering that youth, they figured they may be a year away, but, Christmas came early for them.

Great atmosphere. My Freshman year Boyle played there and we scrimmaged there in 1980.

I am looking forward to the rematch next year at Beechwood. That is going to be a heck of a battle. I know Panther fans have no thought of that at this time though.

 

I didn't realize the 2014 season and playoffs had already happened and that its guarnteed both teams will meet at same spot again. Might as well tell all the other teams in both districts to sit out 2014 and just practice all year and get ready for 2015.

FIEGER MAY HAVE SUFFERED BROKEN LEG: Beechwood sophomore quarterback Kyle Fieger tweeted after Friday night’s 35-21 loss to Frankfort in the Class A state quarterfinals that he fractured his fibula late in the game, but head coach Noel Rash couldn’t confirm that on Monday.

 

Rash said Fieger definitely was hurt and was going to the doctor for further examination on Monday.

 

“We think it might be a fibula fracture, but we’re not quite sure,” Rash said mid-afternoon. “I’m still waiting to hear myself.”

 

The injury occurred as Fieger scrambled to pass with less than three minutes left and Beechwood trailing just 27-21. He tried to stay in the game, but when the next snap went over his head he was unable to move to chase it down, Frankfort recovered and scored a clinching touchdown and two-point conversion with 2:12 remaining.
