Congratulations to the Panthers. They got the job done tonight and Beechwood didn't. The Tigers are who they are this year. The problems that they had most of the season against the tough opponents were on display tonight. The core items that Beechwood teams always have just weren't there this year and it finally caught up to them. Good luck to the Panthers in Mayfield.

Frankfort was definitely more physical tonight. Got off to a bit of a slow start, but once they found their rhythm, Beechwood couldn't do much to stop them. Frankfort left at least 10 points on the field tonight from costly mistakes in the red zone, but they were able to overcome those and get the W. Can't talk enough about #44 for Frankfort. He was a man among boys tonight. The Panthers played with that grit and heart that we are known for, and I couldn't be more proud. Congrats to the Dirty Thirty!! Beat Mayfield!

That #44 song and dance has been witnessed more than once this year by Beechwood. In other words, that is one of the type of problems I was referring to in my previous post. I am not taking anything away from #44 or Frankfort. It took a good team to have that kind of success against Beechwood and Frankfort joined the list of good teams that were able to do that to Beechwood this year.

Congrats to the panthers. I was hoping beechwood would win cause I love it when mayfield and the beechies hook up!

No doubt. If there is an on the field hard nosed leader on this team, it is Joe Studer. As good a year as Fieger had, Studer was probably player of the year for Beechwood because of what he does on both sides of the ball. He played the last half of the season with an injured knee, that is how tough the kid is.

 

And I will take this opportunity to make one point -no one at Beechwood talked about the injuries that really hurt this team. Losing Mitch Thomas was a huge loss. Jack Talley - big loss. Trey Hicks - another key player lost to injury. Studer played injured. These aren't excuses. Just facts. Even a program like Beechwood starts getting hurt when you lose players like that. We heard all year about the Cov Cath injuries but no one talked about these players for Beechwood. Losing Thomas was more significant than CCH losing Luke Bir. Losing Talley would be like CCH losing Burchell for a whole season.
