November 22, 201312 yr Some random thoughts. When I was in law enforcement I was amazed at just how prevalent pot was among people. I am stretching this to make a point but I remember thinking there was pot under every rock I turned over. And that was mostly personal use pot for people that were out and about. And if that many people were carrying pot imagine how many additional people were smoking it at home. Switching gears' date=' the topic came up with someone at my gym lately and the professional I was talking to said it isn't his thing but he has a handful of very successful professional friends that get high 3 or 4 nights a week.[/quote']To your last point, I know quite a few professionals who do.
November 22, 201312 yr I'm saying with people from the age 25-40 I wouldn't be surprised if at least 20% use at some point through out the year. I may be low balling as well.
November 22, 201312 yr I hate to say it but you'd be in for some big time surprises if you ventured very far into almost anyone's personal life (and not just pot).

If this is the case, wouldn't this be considered a problem? I mean, if someone goes home and gets drunk 3 or 4 nights a week, we call that person an alcoholic and they need help. If someone is going home and getting "high" 3 or 4 nights a week, wouldn't the same idea be applicable here?
November 22, 201312 yr I think there are a whole lot of people who have smoked weed, and probably would smoke if the situation presented itself.

Alcohol is much much harder on your body. Spit-balling here but what about people that take Aleve or Acetaminophen every night? Yes they do some good, but those drugs can also be harmful if you take too much or use them long term. What do we call them? I think as a society we like telling others about their shortcomings and with so much negative associated with alcohol, labels are plenty and accepted. How often do we hear about "pot abuse" and the problems it causes individuals and others in society? Again, just spit-balling with those comments but I would say a lot of people need to come out from under the rock of societal norms and expectations they live under.
November 22, 201312 yr Author When did this start? If someone is getting drunk 3-4 nights a week...that person has a drinking problem. Do you not agree? And I'm not talking about an after work martini to relax and take the edge off. I'm talking about getting drunk which is what the original post referred to.

True, it does harm your body...but I don't think comparing aleve to someone actually getting drunk is comparing the same things. I can take 4 or 5 aleve and function normally, drive to work, etc.. may be tearing my liver up, sure. I take 4 or 5 shots of bourbon and get behind the wheel of a car...then I am endangering other people, not just myself.

November 22, 201312 yr And why would that be? Just wondering. I am in that line with mcpapa if it becomes legal. Why? Right now it is illegal therefore I no longer partake like I did when I was much younger. And skinnier(that was for you, Randy). I have responsibilities at work and also volunteer coaching so I am very conscious of my actions as a leader at work and as a role model for children in the community. I would not want to jeopardize my standing with anyone just so I could toke on a joint that is ruled illegal. I've workedtoo hard to get where I am now and being caught breaking the law over weed is not worth the trouble. If it were legal then it would be no different that people seeing me sitting at Guadalajara on Thirsty Thursday enjoying ice cold 32 ounce Bud Lights at 2-for1 prices.
