If they do not develop a more diverse offense I don't see Scott improving on what they did this year anytime soon.. They do have some talent coming up so hopefully they get it worked out. They have great facilities and a nice feeder program with the Taylor Mill Eagles. Scott will never be a doormat like they once were. Great season Eagles!!

 

I saw a kid a few weeks ago named Thurza for the middle school champs and this kid is a stud. I believe his older brother plays for Scott now. I sure hope this kid plays Varsity for Scott. He will be one of the top players in NKY in a few years. Loved watching him play. Anyone else seen this kid?

Scott really disappointed me the last month of the season. They could not pass and couldn't stop the pass.. When you get behind and all you can do is run the ball your in trouble..Overall a great season for Scott but I thought it could of ended up a little better..

 

I wouldn't say they disappointed. More like showed their true colors. These kids should recognize and rebuild. Plenty of talent off 16 to be a good ball program IMO.

He's one of quite a few on Woodland's team that right now are shaping up to Scott's best class ever. Obviously, a lot can change in 4 years, but that class is loaded. Alex Thurza is Nick's younger brother.

#12 for Scott is a tough player. Kid runs hard though he looked a little dinged up in the 2nd half. If Scott could develop a passing game they would be a load to handle.

Thurza and Perrin are 2 of the best players at their age in NKy. Perrin will be the Michael Vick of NKy if he continues to improve and stay healthy..He makes kids look stupid that try and tackle him.. He is definitely fun to watch and also is a great kid.

Castleman..

The Flyers QB Sanderson passed for 207 yds and McCaskill caught 4 passes for 89 with a TD. LB Chris Roberts with a big interception for a TD that got the Flyers going.

A word of caution - things change a lot when kids get to varsity football. I am not saying these guys won't be very, very good players. I am saying that they almost surely will be more dominating in freshman football and below than they ever will be in varsity football.

Since they couldn't field a true JV squad, I'm not nearly as hopeful for the Eagles for the next season or two. What I did see on their Froshmore squad was not a competitive group in their division, unless the rest of the division falls off likewise.

Do you think I don't know that? Sometimes it doesn't work out sometimes it does. Perrin doesn't dominate because of his size like a lot of the dominating kids at that level do. He dominates because he is a superior athlete.. My point being is look at some kids that dominated when they were younger and they are still superior players today Scruggs, Harris, Castleman, Beal etc.. Thurza is a different story he is bigger and stronger than everyone else and he uses that to dominate. The other thing that I like about Thurza is that he has a mean streak and is nasty.. If there was a draft for NKY future stars, my first pick is Thurza!! Kid is a stud.

The froshmore team wasn't competitive?? They only lost one game, either 6-1 or 7-1. Do you have to go undefeated to be competitive?? When did you see them play?? They didn't play Cooper this year. The JV team did play Cooper and lost badly, but were missing the starting QB (out with a concussion) and had several other players hurt from varsity time.

SORRY!!! I asked after Cooper cleaned their clocks if that was JV or Froshmore and was told there was no JV. Y'all need to get your stories straight......

 

If that was JV, unless "several" means 10 on each side of the ball, you got nothing next year. They were small and slow and not athletic as a group. Pleasant was the exception, although the QB was decent, didn't look to be a back-up. But I'll take your word for that.

 

I predicted Scott's success this year based on what I saw in 2012....a roster full of Juniors who were already playing Friday nights, and although Cooper KILLED them, I saw a hungry, talented, super-fast group of ballers. I'd say 90% of those boys are graduating and I am not remotely impressed with what's coming.
