November 2, 201312 yr It depends on what they were singing. At some point the line can be crossed. You are still repping your school. You have limits. Not sure if this one crossed those limits but it's certainly possible. If a team I repping their school in the locker room then something is seriously wrong with that program. Was the NSA somehow involved in this?

Not sure if this one crossed those limits but it's certainly possible. I think this quote from the article that accompanied the video kind of sums things up, even though I agree with what is said and done in the locker room STAYS THERE. "Experts said the video is proof of a deeper problem within our culture: teens desensitized to derogatory words glorified in the media, music, video games and every day life."
November 2, 201312 yr Talk about making a mountain out of a molehill. America is going soft While I agree wholeheartedly, the lack of RESPECT is rampant in our society.
November 2, 201312 yr While I agree wholeheartedly, the lack of RESPECT is rampant in our society. I personally think this is at the root of so many of our problems in today's society. Both respect for others as well as for one's self.

Teens have been desensitized since AT LEAST 1988 last I saw. What rock were these 'experts' hiding under.
November 2, 201312 yr Author If a team I repping their school in the locker room then something is seriously wrong with that program. Was the NSA somehow involved in this? What? A kid on the team put it online. THAT is why it's potentially a legit reason to be suspended.

November 2, 201312 yr People love to talk about how young people don't have any respect or how terrible kids are these days. Look at some of the decisions that we've discussed on here made by school Administrations... Who is more to blame for young people than them? The suspension is ridiculous. No other way to put it.
November 2, 201312 yr Author So hold the players accountable. A coach can't be in the locker room to watch over them 100% of the time. I don't disagree. My point is that if you put a video out while representing your school in a school activity you CAN be subject to discipline.
November 2, 201312 yr So the video says that they were singing a tune that repeats an offensive line. I wonder if it's the A$AP Rocky w/Drake & Kendrick Lemar song that I can't say the name of here? Just guessing as I can't find the name of the song anywhere.
November 3, 201312 yr Teens have been desensitized since AT LEAST 1988 last I saw. What rock were these 'experts' hiding under. I hear ya. To me it doesn't matter when it started, not much is done to curb it. Just too much $$$ involved. And we all know THAT is what is worshiped.
November 3, 201312 yr When will these kids ever learn? They put anything and everything on the internet, and never seem to think there are consequences. What is wrong with having great memories? Why does everything have to be out there for the world to see? I am so glad we didn't have the internet when I was young.

Everybody wants a video to go "viral" so they'll get paid from YouTube for it. It's like the new lottery.
