November 4, 201312 yr I was just thinking, but what if the players have just unintentionally found a new way to punish the coaches. I don't like my coach so I will get him suspended. Players need to be accountable for their own actions and I feel like the coach should have been allowed to discipline them on his own instead of the coach being suspended when he apparently wasn't present for the video. Coaches and teachers are becoming powerless.

The video was pulled as soon as the player on the team realized it was leading to trouble for his coach, and it appears that none of the local media is aware of what song it is. One report I saw said that the video was 15 seconds long, and everyone in the locker room was singing the refrain of a song containing multiple f-bombs "over and over again".
November 4, 201312 yr I don't know that I think a suspension is necessarily the correct action (unless perhaps this is something the coach has been warned about before). However, I don't think it's wrong to correct the coach in some way either. I know many football coaches cuss. I know many football players cuss too. I'm no idiot. However, I personally think the f-word in particular, along with a select handful of other words, stands above others in terms of how offensive it is. Still, my thoughts on the matter are these: Is cussing the worst example you can make for teenagers? No. Is cussing an example you should make for teenagers? No. What greater good is there in learning to cuss like a sailor? I don't know of any. Do you most drivers speed sometimes when they drive their cars? Yes. When your 16 year old gets their drivers license, do you teach them to go ahead and speed sometimes? Probably not. Why not? Because it's a bad habit, and a bad idea - and it's one that they're probably going to learn on their own. Hold yourself to a higher standard and don't be the one that they learn that from.

November 4, 201312 yr I'm glad we didn't have smart phone when I was in high school. It should be called a Dumb Phone. Teenagers are dumb as heck when they get their hands on them.
