October 24, 201312 yr Can't say where to eat but there is a bar on bourbon street that makes a heck of a cup of hooch. At least the first 2 were really good, don't remember much about the 3rd.
October 24, 201312 yr Mother's is a breakfast tradition. G W Fin's is the best Po Boy. Antoine's is excellent. Oldest family owned and operated restaurant in the United States. Mulate's is a favorite of mine. Take a stroll over to Decatur Street and stop in the Cigar Factory.
October 24, 201312 yr As stated earlier, you will get tons of advice for NOLA. You probably can't go wrong at most places there. One of the great American cities. Most of us probably can't share on this site some of our experiences. I sure can't.
October 25, 201312 yr Only if he's playing for the "other"(wink, wink) team. Not that there's anything wrong with that.
October 25, 201312 yr Most people will tell you to go to Cafe Du Mond for breakfast. I'm here to tell you that no matter what you do, you can NOT pass up the Uncle Herschel's Favorite at the Cracker Barrel! Well that is a solid breakfast platter. Good thing you don't have to go to New Orleans to get it.
October 25, 201312 yr One of the talking heads on Sirius XM said Drago's is the best oyster place in NO, without question.

October 25, 201312 yr I would definitely recommend Mother's as well. It's a yearly thing when I go. The first year I did our service trip, we had a native Cajun with us and he took us there, so it's as authentic as it probably gets. Coop's is really good Southern style food. You might not want it if you can get it in Kentucky, but I don't really have that option besides being home on breaks, so it held me over nicely between trips.

My experience with New Orleans is the only redeeming quality the city has is some fine dining choices. Other than that the place is a cesspool. I could easily give you 50 other cities I'd prefer to visit or live.
