December 28, 201312 yr Author Definitely plan to watch Saturday. I wanted to go out to Vegas and catch this one so bad but had a couple people flake out on me so it didn't work out. I've never been to a UFC or even to Vegas so figured it would be a good time to take care of both. Anderson has been my favorite fighter for a while and I like Weidman quite a bit as well. Brown/Barnett going to be a good fight as well. Now that's actually here it's killing me I didn't go.
December 28, 201312 yr Author Anderson is going to beat the snot out of him! Knock out first round! I look for him to win but Weidmans no joke. Anderson done too much clowning last fight even though it was a good strategy to keep the fight standing. Going to be more difficult this time around with Weidman trying to get the fight on the ground.
December 29, 201312 yr I felt like we heard it audibly. The type of sound you initially just assume was the usual slap of skin, I believe was the sound of his bone SHATTERING. Kick with the left leg to the inside of Weidman's left shin/calf area, and then his leg just wrapped around it when the bone went.
December 29, 201312 yr Yeesh, I can't stand to look at the video again after seeing it in slow motion. Its going to be a long, long while before we see Silva back in the ring again. Here is hoping for a speedy recovery.
December 29, 201312 yr “@arielhelwani: Anderson is yelling at the top of his lungs on the stretcher backstage. I've never heard anything like that. A horrible sound.”
December 29, 201312 yr “@arielhelwani: Anderson is yelling at the top of his lungs on the stretcher backstage. I've never heard anything like that. A horrible sound.” That's awful. It was nasty. Feel bad for anyone who has to go through that.
December 29, 201312 yr Author By far the craziest thing I've ever seen during a UFC, so sad. It broke my heart to watch it, could possibly be the end of Silva. Not the way I pictured him to go out but he's got a long road just to walk again much less train and fight. Feel so bad for him right now, he goes from top of the sport to a pretty tough hole to come out of. Just absolutely horrific.
December 29, 201312 yr Goes to show, if Silva wasn't a showboat when he lost the first time this would have never would have happened. One of the best ever but also one of the biggest punks out there. Won't be sad if this was his last fight.
December 29, 201312 yr Anderson Silva just broke his leg on his own kick. Looked like rubber. I hate seeing stuff like that. Had to watch the replay though and I honestly got sick at my stomach. Glad I wasn't drinking or eating heavily tonight because I don't think I could've held it down.

We will see if that changes in the months to come but ya. That was nasty and as awesome as Silva is. At almost 39 you just don't heal the same. That looked career ending and I think he knew it. It's one thing to lose this match and then fade away. But to have it happen this way is a real shame.

What if he didn't clown as much the first fight? What if this didn't happen in the second? Just an odd way to wrap up a legacy. I mean there was supposed to eventually be the Jones fight and everything but like you I think this is the end. Shout out to the Spider, one of the greats!
