I'm watching the replay right now. They only show Max warming up.

The biggest mystery to me of this whole UK football season so far is why doesn't Towles get a shot? Is he the worst practice player ever? It just seems to me when you are in the midst of a season heading nowhere why not see what he has? They are never winning big with Whitlow and Smith is damaged goods. It makes no sense to me.

PT was also throwing. Didn't have his helmet on though.

 

Reese Phillips was not throwing at any point during the game. At halftime it was Max and PT as well.

Whitlow and Alvin Dupree wear #2. Maybe Max was throwing to Dupree to warm up?

Maybe he's the Tim Tebow of college football...fervent following of fans but just can't figure it out at the next level.

 

PT looked great his first series last year, but never looked that good again. I think him being a solid #3 has more to do with not wanting to waste a season of eligibility for him this season. As a PT fan I would hate to see him waste another season of eligibility just for a couple of series here or there or even a single game or two. Hopefully they will preserve his Redshirt and he can decide after the season what's best for him, I hope he stays and think he can be an asset for UK in the future. No reason to waste a year for him this season.

Seven games into a season do you burn a red shirt and lose a year of eligibility?

 

From the start of the pre-season it was evident that this teams problems had little to do with the signal caller, and a lot to do with the rest of the team. Ask yourself - what would this teams record be with Pat Towles at QB? with Rees Phillips? with Stinkyboy II? All the same.

 

I would like to see PT transfer to a pass happy mid-major and light it up like we saw him do in high school.

Maybe I'm a wide-eyed optimist here, but I'd like to think the UK program has a long-range plan for Towles. What weapons does he have to work with right now? The biggest weapons are first-year players. There are no expectations for this team this year and weren't when the season began. What does playing Towles now do for both him and the future? Maybe they want him stronger. Maybe they want him to learn the offensive system this year and not lose a year of eligibility so that he has a firm grasp in 2014 and the coaches can focus elsewhere. I'm sure he hasn't been forgotten by the coaches.

My opinion of Pat was that going to UK to play football was a bad career decision. I don't blame the kid for going to his 'dream' school, heck, it is UK, even if it was Jokers UK. However, he doesn't have the agility to scramble the way Whitlow does. In an ideal world with an SEC line in front, Pat is the man. With the guys up front for UK now, Pat would get killed. I'd love to see Pat play behind a good O-Line but I'm afraid he's traded his football future for the prize of being a Wildcat (kinda like D. Hawkins on the hardwood).

Except D Hawkins will most like win a national championship or two, PT has only been a part of 3 wins in his career so far...
