I'm not saying PT is going to be elite, but I do think next year is last and only chance to prove he's the right QB for this team. And I think he's going to shock a few people.

He's playing behind two QBs that are terrible though. It wasn't like Stoops came in, and immediately decided, I want PT to redshirt, no matter what. He was given a shot at the job and couldn't take it from two very bad QBs. If he couldn't beat them this year, what makes anyone think he'll beat them out next year, when they've both had a season's worth of playing time and reps?

Maybe a full year in a system will help him click mentally. That seems to be the only huge concern with him. I think this year on the bench could really be beneficial.

I would imagine the fact that he couldn't beat out Whitlow and Smith would be the biggest concern...:idunno:

Not to be the bad guy, but alot of us believe that Pat is better than Drew. They are very similar...Pat with the better arm and Drew slightly better quickness.

 

If Drew is fortunate enough to win the job it will have nothing to do with quickness.

Been trying to say for a year PT is not ready yet and may never be. Quitting football would be the dumbest move ever, he enjoys being on the team and enjoys college life even more. There are plenty of perks for a backup QB, including free school and a great social life to say the least. There's always a kid at every school there for the ride but hopefully PT grows/develops into a gamer.
