I don't think any school in a BCS conf will give him a shot...he has not shown the ability to win at the college level in his last two jobs. He'll end up an asst back in the NFL and spend the rest of his career in the NFL, may end up a coordinator at some point.

You have no idea how badly I wanted this clown to stick at UT. He nearly destroyed that program in a short period of time. If he'd managed to make it another year or two they may have slid behind UK.

Because these coaching types continue to recycle. I can see him getting another shot as an OC at a major program before becoming a HC again some day.

Do you see him as an offensive or defensive coordinator? Just wondering out of curiosity.

 

I'd think defensive because of his father.

 

I don't really know if he has what it takes to be a coordinator in the pros though. I just don't know if his ego will allow him to handle the structure. It was clear that he lost control of this year's team when the reports about the (non?) meeting came out. If he can't handle college players, he'll have no shot at doing so in the pros.

 

Could be wrong on that though.

Florida would have been before UK and USC if Meyer had stayed there.

 

Just my thoughts.

Given Kiffin's track record, he'll probably wind up coaching the Steelers tomorrow. I've never seen someone who fails upward more than him.

I would think, if offered, Franklin would have to take the job. As great a job as he's doing at Vandy, it's still Vandy.

You have to wonder if Kiffin jumped on the job at USC knowing they were getting wacked with sanctions. With that he had a default excuse for lack of performance and could survive through the period until the scholarships kicked back in. At Tennessee he would have been butting heads with the top teams in the country year-in and year-out. His mediocre coaching would have been exposed in such a situation. It seems USC needed to see something of substance and was not seeing it.
