How many more years before UK basketball gets in trouble with the NCAA?

Featured Replies

How many more years will it be before something happens that causes UK basketball to get penalized by the NCAA? I am sure that there are lots of people and organizations who are scrutinizing UK and Calipari. When will something get uncovered or disclosed that results in sanctions?

Depends on what your definition of 'penalized' is.

John Wall and Johnny Manziel were technically 'penalized' by the NCAA if you take a strict interpretation of penalized.

Why do they have to get in trouble? Elite recruits want to play for an NBA coach that have state of the art facilities. Besides Cal doesn't get them all, he missed the next Lebron this year and the #1 guy next year.

Is a joke....

You could start a thread like this about any top school. Silly

You are right, but I am a UK fan and I care more about UK than other programs. I think we all know that Calipari is probably scrutinized more than most, and UK does not exactly have a clean record going all the way back to the 1950s. I think it is a fair question to ask.

Good question. When Wall was penalized, was UK penalized as well, or just Wall? I thought it was just Wall. In my original question, I am talking about an instance when the UK men's basketball program is penalized.

"NBA coach". LOLZ...

I honestly don't worry about it anymore.

With the recent issues at North Carolina, Texas A & M and Duke with little to no punishment, it would have to be a huge scandal for anything serious to come from it. I think the NCAA lost a lot of the fear factor they had going by the way they handled those three cases.

Those three situations kind of paved the way for other elite schools. Don't talk to the NCAA and hire some high profile lawyers and you're good

Is there a college coach with more NBA connections?

Define connections.

Cal has sent the most players to the pros than any other coach in the last 5 years but I don't know if there is evidence to prove he has more connections than any other college coach. I'd say they all have their fair share of connections.

The head coach of USA Basketball is a college coach. I'd say he has a ton of NBA connections of his own.

Larry Brown. Remember he was actually successful in the NBA... :idunno:

But haven't most of his players died by now?
