If Pat truly wants to be "The Guy" then imo he should transfer. However, uf he truly loves the school and being a Cat then I guess he needs to get verter so there is no doubt.

Told him during recruiting that he was going to be the guy to be the face of UK Football. Then on Signing day he finds out UK signs another QB that I don't think he knew about. I think after he signed I have a feeling he began to feel like he was going to face a longer uphill climb than anticipated.

Fair point, but I think Stoops is in the business of winning, and winning as much as he can as soon as possible, especially given the comments about preferring to redshirt Phillips. I don't see any reason for him to "hold down" Towles if he has the talent to help us win. Stoops knows that the worse the season gets, the more other recruiters are going to use it as ammo against us in trying to get a commit to flip.

 

IMO, If he's made the comment about actually preferring to redshirt Phillips, then the writing is on the wall for Towles as far as his chances of seeing the field goes.

I would say every QB with Towles status coming out of high school is told something similar to that and I'm betting every QB of his status expects to be great. Whitlow's signing was a best athlete available type signing, I'm not even sure they expected him to be a QB.

I've been saying it for a while that Towels simply isn't ready and still isn't as of 9/20/13. People need to learn to accept this. Stoops wasn't even considering Towels in his phone interview and he's the back up option after the back up option.

 

People need to calm down and let him learn the offense he's more of a project that could pay off in a fee years, he's not Couch or Lorenzen.
