He might have had a point if he had said "BCS bowl history." Boise over Oklahoma?

No, going to the Sugar Bowl is a great thing.

And you can schedule better teams.

Last I checked, ESPN didn't make their schedule. It's not like the Big East was a great conference anyway, and with re-alignment going like it was, Louisville was playing with fire having not beefed up their schedule already and got burned.

I am with you, sort of. You would think everyone makes their own schedule besides UL by what I read. I am though very sympathetic because I do know a lot of it was out of their control... But not all of it. But you can't always predict the type of team one will have and you do not want to enter non-reciprocal type deals.

I like watching high caliber talent across the board or exciting play. This game delivered none of that. Time wasted.

Three things:

1) Louisville did beef up their schedule, several times. It kept falling apart. Georgia, Vanderbilt, SDSU, TCU, Boise St and others at one point or another were all supposed to be on the slate this year. Louisville tried all off season to make a deal with ranked teams with open dates, even offering deals with uneven returns which Jurich doesn't like (with good reason, as Louisville pays for all their athletic improvements themselves.) Texas A&M, Bama, VaTech, Michigan and Ohio State were all approached, all chose other games.

2) After rewatching the game I think the blame for Louisville's underperformance is mostly on Teddy. His game reminded me of Russ Smith when he's ice cold and still chucking up threes and going 5 on 1. Bridgewater was immature yesterday; when he took what the defense gave him, Louisville moved the ball, but he got impatient. I don't think he's going to enjoy film this week. Otherwise, the run game was fine once they changed from a pulling scheme and the defense was obviously great. The coaches also singled out Parker who apparently didn't run his routes correctly a few times.

3) I think that Louisville failed to make a resounding statement yesterday, and I'm disappointed in the lack of scoring, but you guys have put way too much into this game if you think this is what keeps Louisville out of the title game. The fact is, this game went largely unnoticed and the national story around this game was that Louisville was slow early and took care of business late to put away an SEC rival on the road. Right or wrong, that's the perception yesterday from people outside of Louisville and Lexington. The reality is that yesterday has very little to do with what bowl game Louisville ends up in. Either the right teams will lose or they won't, but no one should be under the impression that Louisville can force their way in, because they can't. The schedule is just too weak.

Yesterday proved to me Stoops is the right fit for UK. This was the most prepared team I've seen from Kentucky in 2 years.

Case in point:

The only mention of the game on ESPN's main NCAA football page is a video entitled "Louisville Sluggers" going over UofL's ground game.

Well that's fine if you concede that then today's win is fine, it's a step towards the Sugar Bowl I suppose.

I just don't want to hear the UL fans whining in January about how they should be in, cause your fooling yourself if you don't think some will be.

WOW there's some nice logic for you. Going to the Sugar Bowl is a bad thing.

Commonwealth Hold 70K. UK and BBN always bragged about their 70K. They didnt show up today. They should because this coaching staff will get things turned around.

Again, UK's motto was "60,000 strong", not 70,000.

Yesterday's official attendance was 65,445...

Uh-huh...

Much like I have done in the high school forum exaggerating the qualifications of St. X's coaching staff to chafe the Xaviarains and to give me ammo if they fall flat the only people that I have heard making any hay about a national championship game for UofL are UK fans.

Nor should they, UK is a bad football team with 1 for sure win left ok the schedule.

UK is a bad team and UL is not much better they would get killed by every team in the top ten!

Not a chance.

With the Heisman trophy winner on his way out and the best UL team ever, unlikely to progress any further than lest year, that's the logic son.

Your dedication to try to upset UL fans that they may not make the NC game is to be admired. :lol2:
